December 31 4:44pm

The last hours of 2004 are winding down, I guess the year wasn't to bad, And it seems to be ending on an up note. Hopefully 2005 finds you all better.

So what is everyone doing tonight, we plan to stay in, too many crazies out on the road, We're having fondue for dinner, some pastilles, mixing together some martini's, and we have a nice bottle of champagne to pop open at the midnight hour, then maybe some drunken new year's sex... ahh, did I say that out loud?

Everything starts new with the new year, this section will be archived tomorrow and the blog begins anew

December 30, 2004

Oh no, There was another show on the Bible code last night, that always gets me into trouble! Well I haven't really had much time to blog recently so I've kept out of getting in trouble. I might update the rant on the BC in the soapbox about it, maybe next week!

December 27, 2004

Wow, it's almost 2005. Not sure what we will do on New Years Eve, we did get a nice bottle of champagne to ring in the new year, hopefully we like it, we haven't tried it before. We had wanted to get some Dom Perignon but it wasn't in the budget this soon after Christmas!

I haven't really been working on the FTP server, mostly because of the holiday, I sort of have it working but haven't gotten it to be reliable. but I was looking at the ftp log and it appears that someone tried to log in over 200 times on 12/23, they were unsuccessful in their endeavor and I banned thier IP number so they can't try from that computer again. I also changed the server settings to only allow 3 tries to log in and then the ip is banned for an hour from trying again! I removed any kind of guest access too. only registered users allowed.

I had wanted to redesign my site for the new year (yea, I know, again!) but that too looks like it won't happen. I may try in January, but I'm not sure, I kind of want to totally revamp the site and that take time, which is something I have very little of. I have a few thoughts on it but I haven't really worked it out yet. I seem to work better under pressure (last minute, deadlines, emergencies, etc..) and I don't really have that with the site.

December 26, 2004

Well I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, I know I haven't blogged much, it's more because of my frustration at the speed I type then anything else, but I'll try to do better in the coming year.

On Christmas Eve my brother Tony & his wife, my best friend Duane, and Fred and his Wife Kristen came over and we watched christmas movies. Diehard (yes it is a Christmas Movie), Scrooged, and Christmas Vacation. then @ 12 we opened our presents, Thanks to all for the gifts. the old people (Tony & Linda)left early as usual, the rest of us stayed up talking till after 3.

Yesterday at about 10:30 I picked up my daughter Rachel and she got to open her presents from us, she had 33 presents , she counted! I opened up the presents she gave me, one is a calendar with pictures of her every month, there was also counting sheep #1(from the Serta commercials) to go with #13 that I got previously, and she also got me a telescoping fishing pole. I like the fish pole a lot, I think it was a very thoughtful gift, unfortunately it is a very cheap pole and I doubt that I can use it, I'm going to have to find a pole like it that is higher quility to replace it with so that I can use it. Of course she didn't know it wasn't a good pole, she is after all only eight and didn't have much money to spend anyway. After we took Rachel back hom, Janet, Dan and thier kids and then Tony & Linda showed up and we chatted with them and got to open more presents, we got some really nice bath towels from Fanny, to bad we have nowhere to put them yet, but they'll look good in the new house.

last night we watched the Passion, I'll refrain from posting about it for now though.

Happy Boxing Day eh

December 21, 2004

We have been getting a lot of corrections at work this week already, For those who don't know, I won't mention what exactly I do, but I deal with artists, and they can't seem to spell or use correct grammar. This I can understand, if you read my blog you'll notice a lot of spelling and other errors, mostly because I'm a bad (and very slow!) typist, not because I'm a bad speller. The difference between these artist and me is that I post my blog and edit it myself while they send their work and it gets edited several times by professional editors! How can they miss so many spelling errors? It's made worse by the fact that it is a holiday week and we will be closed Friday and we need to get things out early, errors like this means we have to redo a lot of work that has already been done.

So the stupid bitch is probably going to plead insanity, what else would someone plead after killing a woman and ripping out her unborn baby? I don't think that should matter, I say give all of the victims family members a louisville slugger and let them at her.

I've been scanning in old photographs of my family, It's a huge task, I have four bins full of them, granted I won't scan all of them, but I imagine I'll have to scan at least half of them. It's several thousand Photos and I've only just begun. I have been sorting through them to scan the more important ones first (older, faded, damaged) so that they don't get worse. I'm not really fixing them, I can do that later, but I do have to adjust them a little so they come out better. I have scanned about 300 so far. My older brother has a whole album of photos when he was an infant and I have scanned most of those, of course they end about a month before I was born and you don't see a photo of me till I am about two years old! Now my brother does have to be nicer to me as I have photos of him naked as a baby that I can post on the internet!!!

It's horrible how happy the news media seems to be when talking about the attack on US troops in Iraq today. They have almost a glee in their voices talking about how the insurgents are getting bolder. I think they really want the US to lose and to have massive casualties while doing it, I think they keep mentioning Viet Nam because that is what they want it to be. I don't think that is what will happen. They don't make those claims about Isreal and they probably get attacked just as often, and it's in thier country. They don't say that Isreal is not in control of the government. Is there big problems still in Iraq, of course there is, but the media likes to drum up the bad that is happening and forget about the good, did you even hear that in Afganistan they held elections? maybe if you paid attention for the 15-20 seconds they talked about it. The insurgents don't want the elections, it's only natural for them to keep attacking to disrupt them. they would be stupid not to. Will they succeed in this? Well the media certainly hopes they do.

'You'll be a dentist, people will pay you to be inhumane'

Went to the dentist today, got my crown replaced finally. Have to go back on Monday to do some more work, I want to use up more of my insurance before the end of the year, just wish I had more money to do more, but at least I don't have a hole in my smile anymore.

I didn't have Rachel yesterday, I was kind of disappointed but she had been bad at school so she was being punished. Of course that also punishes me so that's an added bonus! I missed taking her to school, but her mom told her if she was good she could come over tomorrow to help us decorate the tree, I'm not holding my breath though.

December 15, 2004

My Daughter Rachel went on her first Roller Coaster this past weekend. We were invited to MGM Studios on Saturday night to see the Osbourne Christmas Lights by my wife's uncle. I think she had a great time, she hadn't been there in a few years so it was mostly new to her. We went on Star Tours and saw the 3D Muppet show and the lights. Then we checked the line on the Rocking Roller Coaster and it was shorter then it had been when we checked earlier. Rachel just made the 'you must be this high' sign so we took her on. I think I was more scared then she was, not so much scared as worried, especially when a little girl about her age got scared in front of us and started crying and refused to go on. But I wouldn't have minded that, I was more worried that she would go on and be really frightened. I spent the whole time watching her. She did great and loved it. She still didn't want to go on the Tower of Terror, but she said maybe next time!

The three of us.

December 10, 2004

Part-time parenting: So I try to have my daughter as often as I can, even when she was younger and needed more attention I would watch her when her mom would let me have her. So maybe this is why I can't understand when parents dump their kids on whomever would take them and go off alone to do something 'fun', and I don't mean after a week of taking care of them, as they work and have hardly seen them during the week. Guess they only want to be parents when it's convenient and fits into their schedule?

On ER last night, they were talking about euthanasia, one of the characters father was ill and wanted them to end his suffering, but another character was wanting to put him in a nursing home. So this to me sounds more like an 'out of site out of mind' approach. The father would still be suffering, but it would be better because they didn't have to see him suffering or deal with any of it, just pay the bill and your job is done, who cares that he is still suffering? sorry, I think I would rather be dead then a forgotten lump of meat suffering in pain on a gurney.

Brighthouse Sucks!!! I may have said that before but I'll say it again. Brighthouse was supposed to come by today between 11-2 to install cable in one of the rooms, the rest of the rooms have DirecTV. I was going to get another DirecTV receiver for that room but it would cost to get it and I figured I would wait until we moved, but then Brighthouse called and after offering it as a free trial, we agreed. At 2:15 I called to see what was up and after being on hold and transfered around for 25 minutes or so, it turns out they have NO RECORD of the order and had no idea what to do! I cancelled the order, I'll get the new receiver instead.

December 5, 2004

We went to the mall today, just to walk around and look. We stopped at the Select Comfort store there, we need a new matress (we've worn the old one out!) and Rachel wanted to see them because she's seen their commercials for their sleep number beds. We went in and were talking to the guy there, and he had us lay down on the bed and adjust the bed to the setting we liked. Wow, it was so comfortable. it's basicly an air bed that let's you adust the firmness to what you like. It's more expensive then the spring beds, but not really that much, I paid almost the same price for the spring bed I have now. We'll probrably get one because we liked it so much, unfortunately we have to wait till we move, I would love to have gotten it today!

December 4, 2004

Last night, not really being able to sleep (big surprise), I decided to catch up on some DVDs I had been meaning to watch. One was about idiots, another was about an idiot, and the third was about President Bush and the big head. I briefly comment on two of them, but the one about idiots deserves to be in the soapbox.

Celsius 41.11 - I think This would have been better to watch before the election, it's really irrelevant now. The first half of it is about Bush while the second part about Kerry. It was a good movie, showing the falsehoods that liberals use against Bush, and pointed out the lies and deceptions theat Kerry has used throughout his career. I don't think that anyones oppinions would have been changed much by this film.

'there is no terrorist threat' - Michael Moore after 9-11

Fahrenhype 911 - This was a much better film, it was a look at the deceptions of Michael Moore(on)'s film F911. It would be hard for liberals to brush this one off as a republican attack film since it was made by liberal film makers who voted for Gore! Dick Morris (Clinton Administration), Ron Silver (Democrate till 9-11), and others are interviewed and they point out that Moore just shows the information that supports his case, and even if there is a lot more information that disproves it, he shows none of that. In Moore oppinion, if you point this out, your a republican attack dog! The most damning evidence is that they show people interviewed and shown in Moores film, and they dispute what happened, most didn't even know it was for F911 and are talking about completely different things! How can Moore explain that? As Ron Silver says, Give me enough footage of Moore and, using his Methods, I can turn him into a anorexic Bush supporter. This film was great and I think everyone who saw F911 should see it, it would probrably change a lot of peoples (except for the nutcase liberals) oppinion on Moore and his films. Unfortunately it didn't have the press or the backing of the Hollywood elite that F911 did.

911 In plane site - At a soapbox near you.

December 3, 2004

Since I work on my site locally, if you drop by when I happen to be working on it, you may notice half completed post and such, that's beccause as soon as I save it is on the web! so mispellings you see may be fixed before I finish. I maight also be check out new things!

You may have noticed I made a few changes, I removed the links page and added links to the side. Makes it easier to navigate around I'll be making more changes.

More changes made, now let's blog!

I took my daughter to school this morning, it was the first time i've been able to do that. I have the day off, have to use vacation days or I lose them. since she spent the night she wanted me to take her in my Jeep. it was fun.

The rest of the day I have spent working on the web site on and off, trying to learn more about Dreamweaver and style sheets. Also looked into why FTP doesn't work! That seems to be the only thing left to get working. Still no go. What I would like to do is get another mac and set it up as the server, it may help to have a clean system to start with. Maybe after the holidays I'll be able to pick up a G4 on ebay to use, I have a couple of G3s I could use, but they would be slower and I would have to upgrade some things to get them working anyway, so why spend money on them when I can get a faster system for almost the same price?

Speaking of ebay - who the fuck buys a piece of toast for $28000 (i think that was the price)? How big a moron do you have to be? it didn't look like Jesus to me, it looked more like Madonna, and I mean the pop singer! I hate stupid people.

D'oh - Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke? Give me a fucking break. Since when is Daisy Duke Blonde and STUPID? Jessica can't act her way out of a paper bag.

December 1, 2004

Well the web server was down most of the day, Damn Brighthouse. it's up and running again hopefully it stays up for a while.

November 29, 2004

I seem to have screwed up the email, grrr, as usual something simple that I screw up! well anyway, Duane offered to help me set up a dns server so we won't have these problems. I think one of the biggest problems is that I have so much on this machine and the settings have been changed so much from standard that running the server bogs down much more then it should. I have to see about getting a computer just for the web/dns server.

I finished a story that I have been working on last night, it was a hard story to write, it is a non-fictional tale. I plan on posting it soon, Rachel wants to edit it for me so after that i'll post it. I also have two fictional tales that i am working on, one is actually done, I just need to rewrite it so it doesn't sound so vulgar.

November 28, 2004

Happy Birthday Duane!

Yes, I know I haven't been blogging. I have been trying to get the web sites set up. Remember everyone, the old server is history after the 30th. If you have not made arrangements yet, you have very little time. I gave up on setting up an email server, I got one from godaddy.com, that way we'll still have email without the hassle. FTP access is still something I'm working on, we seem to only be able to connect from the local network so we can only blog from home for now. the offer I made earlier to some is still available if you wish. just email me or Rachel (or phone) and I'll set you up with an account, ftp should be working soon.

November 25, 2004

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Pereiraville.com is being moved to this server so it will be down for a few days.

November 20, 2004

We're Baaack. yes, we are being served from our web server!

November 19, 2004

As you probably know, bakerstreet.ws is down. I changed the nameserver to point to my web server and that says it takes three days to switch. Hopefully tomorrow night you will be seeing this on bakerstreet.ws, more likely, you will still be getting an error until I figure out what I did wrong! we'll have to wait and see.

November 17, 2004

I now have a static IP address, I have programmed the site to switch to the new server, this will take a few days. If all goes well, you shouldn't notice the switch, if I screwed up (more likely!) then the site will disappear until I figure out what went wrong! I expect to be siteless in a few days.

November 15, 2004

I should have a static IP address on wednesday and will see about getting bakerstreet moved to the server, also I'll try to get the mail server up and running. I hope to have all my sites on the server by next week, then I can try getting some of the other sites up before the end of the month.

November 10, 2004

'I soiled my armor I was so scared'

On the way home last night we saw two bunnies hopping along the sidewalk by our house, we stopped to try and catch them as there was no one around and we figured they had excaped for home. Alas they we're skittish and hopped off. Hopefully their family finds them. poor bunnies!

November 9, 2004

My router died! Well sort of, It was dead this morning, I was all set to call and bitch @ Brighthouse again till I realized it was the router. I have it working again, but since I was offline the ip number changed. new site is now here.

November 8, 2004

Looks like we are losing our server at the end of the month, I have been working to set up a web server from home. So far the tests have been very good and it seems to work just fine and this site is mirrored there currently, you can check it out here. The ip is not static yet so if you can't get there it may have changed. I have it running Apache 2.0, it also supports Perl, MySQL and PHP, but I haven't tried that out yet. I am currently working on figuring out how to set up a Mail server and then we can switch completely over. I think I'll like this set up, it gives me complete freedom on my site. I plan on dropping Brighthouse and getting DSL, probably Bellsouth, and I'll get a static ip along with it.

November 7, 2004

We took Rachel to see the Incredibles yesterday, and I must say, it was incredible and I highly recommend everyone to see it, Pixar hits another one out of the ballpark.

I was thinking that maybe I was being a little hard on liberals and the Democrats, After all they really couldn't be as sissy as I thought, maybe I was wrong, maybe they'll realize that things will be just fine, maybe even better then they seem to think. Then I read several articles on how hard they are taking the election loss, how some think they may need grief counseling, WTF? They are bigger sissys then I thought, I was giving them to much credit. then there was the moron who committed suicide at ground zero, his family thinks it was because of the election, and this guy was set to get married? Thankfully he put himself out of the gene pool, I hope he hadn't already had mini morons.

Looks like Iran has reached an preliminary agreement on its nuke program. Hmm, wonder if this would have happened if Kerry had been elected president? Also notice that the good news about jobs only appeared after the election.

'Do as I say, not as I do!'

The French destroyed the airforce of the Ivory Coast in retaliation for attacks that killed 9 French peacekeepers and an American.

November 5, 2004

'Vadar was seduced by the dark side of the force.'

Well God Damn, I say God Damn... I just saw the teaser trailer for the Revenge of the Sith, I'm not sure what to think, It does give me more hope that maybe it won't be the crapfest I think it meant turn into. The problem is that it has Alec Guinness giving his speech over images of the new footage. Am I hopeful because it strikes a cord, because it recalls the good movies? Vadar is in this one though so that has to help! Well Judge for yourself HERE. I wonder if OCC will make a Sith Chopper!

Well it looks like the counting is over and Bush won Ohio, New Mexico and Iowa. The New York Whines...er Times is taking it really hard, I've read 5 or 6 editorials from them whining about Bush winning the election... Boo fucking Hoo.

THIS is the reason that I didn't vote for Kerry! The Dems have become a bunch of whiny-ass apologist sissys. Sorry to burst their bubble, but I doubt that half the US would say sorry, probrably not even half of the Dems would. I won't apologize for voting to protect ourselves, I have not heard any apologies from the fuckers that killed 3000 of our citizens on 9/11. I will not apologize for bringing freedom and democracy to Afganistan and soon to Iraq. I will not apologize to long dead peoples that I had no part of exterminating or enslaving. I will not apologize for having a strong country when the world wishes us to be weak, and if they don't like that then I say FUCK THEM!

Note: The Episode 3 trailer is on my server now, at least till the cease and desist order.

November 4, 2004

'What's the frequency Kenneth?'

Does anyone actually watch CBS news? Dan Rather and crew have to be the biggest jokes in the news business, what a fucking lunatic Rather has become, He has turned one of the best news organizations into a liberal soapbox that will do anything to bring down the republicans. The fake documents is a prime example, they threw that out just weeks before the election and then even after they were proved to be faked, they refused to acknowledge that fact, and said they stood by them! Finally in the face of bad press they backed down. Then after all that, they planed on a Sunday before the election bombshell, most likely so they couldn't be dispelled til after the election and damage was done, Unfortunately for them, the bombshell, stolen explosives in Iraq, was found out before the report aired and basicly turned out to be nothing but BS, and CBS had nothing to ran to hurt Bushs chances. I can imagine the Kiss-ass fest Rather will have when the cunt runs in '08. Rather has turned into the 'Micheal Mooron' of the newsdesk. CBS News - all the news, that's faked to print.

I did tune in on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to watch Rather. He was fucked up, I thought it was funny, and the way he talked, what was up with that? Even Jay Leno made fun of him, I imagine David Letterman didn't, but only cause he is on CBS.

November 3, 2004

It's all over but the lawsuits, W has 269 @ 1:07 in the morning one more for the win, or Kerry could tie! Hopefully things don't change, but after 2000 you never know!

OK, with 100% of the vote in, why does CNN still say it's to close to call Ohio? even the provisional ballots are not enough to put Kerry over if they were all for him! Bush won the popular and EC vote, with no state needing a recount, Big head needs to concede.

Even by angry dem standards, Bush wins, as they liked to bitch about the fact that Gore won the popular vote and so in fact won the election in 2000, then they should concede that Bush won, even in the very unlikely event that Kerry drags it out and steals Ohio. Be a man Kerry and concede, for the good of the country.

KERRY FOR RESIDENT

YAY!!!!!!!

Well now comes the whining dems, I'm sure they will start howling about the election, but this time they really don't have a leg to stand on, Bush won the popular vote and the Electorial College vote, and none of the victorys was close enough to warrant a recount. I take back partly what I said yesterday, Americans have some smarts after all.

OSAMA GET BACK IN YOUR HOLE, we're coming for you!

Poor Micheal Moore, I'm sure he's crying in his Bullshit! And all his hard work to get the younger voters out to vote for Kerry. He doesn't even get an Oscar speech out of it!

Of course the bad news about Bush winning, The clinton cunt will be able to run in '08... The Horror, the horror.

Has Dan Rather called the election for W yet? Or is he still claiming it's too close too call? Maybe he's waiting for the art department to whip up some documents proving W lost?

November 2, 2004

Well it's election day and I'm frightened. Americans are stupid, Americans have forgotten September 11th, Americans may let Osama win. This sounds like an endorsment to me.

Maybe it's just cause I am feeling bad, but I suspect that we will lose the war on terrorism tonight. I once thought that the American public was smarter then to elect the governor of a shitty backwater state as President and I was wrong, I thought New Yorkers were smart enough not to elect a cunt that wasn't even from their state as Senator and I was wrong. So now I know that Americans are just dumb shits and deserve a President that Shits on his own brothers in arms and won't do shit for them when the planes start falling from the skys.

What the fuck is with Lucas? The Revenge of the Sith poster looks like shit, it does nothing to make me want to see the third episode of his crapfest. Hell the fake one appeared on the internet a while back was a much better design, the execution was poor but the image was much better.

'Darth Vadar' looks more like a black Jabba the Hut! What Crap!

Wow, it's 7:22 pm and the news channels haven't declared John Kerry the winner like they did Gore in 2000!

November 1, 2004

YAY, I'm on vacation. Not that I have anything to do, but if I didn't use it I lose it so here I am at home wondering what to do!

Unfortunately the holiday season is over, thankfully Thanksgiving is still between now and the shitty season, though you could hardly tell with the fucking stores already playing shitmas music.

Well it's all over tomorrow but for the litigation, I have to make sure my mom gets to vote tomorrow, every vote counts you know. She surprised me the other day when she asked for my help to fill out her sample ballot, she is a democrat and I figured she was voting for Kerry, but when I asked her, she bristled at the notion, 'oh no, I don't like him at all, I'm voting for Bush!' I hope more democrats feel that way and don't just vote the party line.

A few weeks ago (10/12)I wrote that I thought that terrorist would strike the US just before the election IF THEY COULD. I think I can safely say that I was Correct. No there hasn't been an attack, looks like W did a good job and they couldn't attack(I think It's safe to say that now it wouldn't do much good), But they did the next best thing, they brought out Osama. As I said in the earlier post, they want to frighten people into voting for change, they want the Madrid effect, they want Bush out. Why? because they couldn't launch a strike against the US!!! Osama has been absent for three years, they brought him out to remind Americans that he is still out there and Bush hasn't caught him, hopefully that will frighten them into voting for Kerry, but what you have to remember is that he is a paper tiger, he's been declawed by the US. Afganistan is no longer his to roam, He hides in a hole, much like Sadam. Like they said on Fox, was that a Kerry button he was wearing? Kerry will let him regrow his claws.

Last week at work we were discussing the election, as you can tell, I'm not one to hold his opinions in, so it turned into a good discussion. I do like to listen to other viewpoints and the coworker had some good points, I won't go into the whole thing, but just a few points. He was under the mistaken impression that Bush was richer then Kerry, I couldn't convince him that was not the case and I couldn't look it up on the computer at that moment, so I'll Post it here

George & Laura Bush estimated Worth = 6 - 9 million

John & Teresa Kerry estimated worth = 550 - 600 million (some sites say it could be over 1 Billion I just put the majority consensus)

Clearly it's not even close, and he says he'll fight for the middle class, what's the middle class to him? People who make only 200 million? Last year Teresa's taxes were 5 million and change, that's almost what Bush is worth! Sure it's mostly her money and by himself he is only worth about 6 million, but it still counts as his.

October 31, 2004

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone

and a Happy Halloversary to Rachel and me!

October 26, 2004

I was very verbose yesterday, I would have blogged more last night but of course the cable was out!!! Guess some of you might be happy about that. I hate brighthouse.

ABCNEWS Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 4 Times, CBSNEWS Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 7 Times, MSNBC Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 37 Times, and CNN Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 50 Times. Kerry also used it in all his speeches while campaigning. How many times will they bring it up now that it's revealed that they were long gone before the US went in? CNN mentioned it at the bottom of their Iraq page as almost a sidenote! Meanwhile, do you think they'll bring up the memos that surfaced that shows that the Viet Cong was directing Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the group that Kerry was the spokesman for! Sorry I don't post links, I type much too slow to code them in!

October 25, 2004

We are coming up on the holiday season and usually that is the time that I post in the soapbox, I warn you of this now because of past misunderstandings, these rants are NOT aimed at anyone in particular, If you don't think you'll like the rant, DON'T read it!

But let's start with the election news. I read a news item (surprisingly!) where Russain President Putin thinks that if Kerry wins, the terrorist win and the world will be less safe then if Bush wins. Remember that Russia was against the war in Iraq. Of course this new wasn't printed on the front page. Another item that was on the front page on CNNs website. '843 ex-soldiers fail to report for Army duty' it goes on to mention that it's about 37% of the called up soldiers. reading the article it almost sounds as if it's a mutiny! Of course if you read the full article, 37% is about the 1/3 that the army predicted, and no they are not mutinying, some have not recieved their orders and some may not be able to serve because of health or other reasons.

Why are the liberals so angry? Why do they hate Bush, it's not just the 'i think Kerry can do better' it's a hostility that I find that most of them seem to have. They love to claim that the republicans are dividing the nation but the ones that are doing that is them! They seem to have the attitude that if you support Bush you are an idiot. I think that most of them are voting for Kerry, not cause he is better but becuase he is not Bush. Just go to the bookstore and see how many Anti-Bush books there are, if you want a best seller, just write one, doesn't matter if it's true, facts haven't hurt Michael Moorons books. It can't be the 'Bush stole the election' even if the recount had gone on, the votes that were to be recounted would still have put Bush as the victor, and if they are mad that Gore won the popular vote (maybe/maybe not hard to tell FL wasn't the only state with election problems), then do they hate John Quincy Adams, Ruthford B Hayes, or Benjamin Harrison? All president that won the electorial college but not the popular vote! I don't hate Kerry, and I think he might have made a good president...Before September 11, but his back and forth on just where he stands just doesn't cut it for me, you have to stand up and make a decision, you can't be weak. I make fun of Kerry, but I also laugh at jokes about Bush, he's not a good poblic speaker, but that doesn't mean he's stupid.

So Kerry is bitching that Americans should be able to import prescription drugs from Canada because they are cheaper? Is this the stupidist thing or what? No, cheaper drugs is a good thing, the problem is that the drugs from Canada come from...America! so we are going to export them to then import them back! The reason the drugs are cheaper in Canada is that the government limits the price companies can charge there. The companies sell there at a very low price margin. Why can't they sell they drugs at the same price here? Well, in Canada, they have 30 million customers while in the US there are 300 million. The US is their primary target, Canada is just a secondary source. Just like prices in different parts of the US are higher and lower (gas, rent, etc...) so are drug prices. Drug companies probrably could not afford to sell drugs in the US at Canadian prices and still survive. Why are the prices so high? well let's see, research, developement, testing, and of course the ever present LAWSUITS!

You thought I was done didn't you? Amother item that the Dems are throwing out, raising the minimum wage. This is a great idea...to get votes, in reality it doesn't do shit for most people. I don't make much money, I should, and probrably could make lots more, but I make more them minimum wage and more then the $6+ that they want to raise it to. I don't know anyone that is making minimum wage, people making that are either teenagers or the unskilled labor force, even waitresses can make more then that (tip your waitresses!). so this is the core of the people that will benefit from the increase. greta to get those out to vote for you since they usually won't vote. What do they not tell you, Since most people making more then the new rate will NOT get a raise, their pay basicly drops by $1 an hour, also if a company has $20 an hour to hire employees, it can get 4 at the lower rate or 3 at the new rate, someone loses a job, they now make $0hr. of course they could raise their prices too if the market can bear it, then even the ones who didn't get a raise have to pay for it, dropping their pay yet again! So this may hurt the very people that it says it will help, they'll have higher prices and some may loes their jobs for what looks to me as a vote grabbing ploy. Think of it this way, you've been at you're job a few years, you are now making $6.5hr then the raise kicks in and the snotnosed brat that just got hired is now making just a few cents an hour less then you are. not that I think raising the minimum wage is bad, I just think it could be better implemented.

OK, I haven't blogged in a while, but at work I have been busy on a project and at home I am working on the halloween party so it hasn't left me much time.

Well I was going to blog more, but my daughter is here and she demands attention.

October 16, 2004

Does it say something about you when your local liquer store saves the last bottle of Black Vodka for you because he knows you'll come looking for it for your Halloween party? Mmmm Poison Apple Martinis.

October 12, 2004

Only a few weeks left til the election, I think the American public should be on alert. as I would think is obvious that terrorist would perfer that Bush lose the election, who would you want running you US if you were a terrorist? Someone who would go after you and hunt you down or Kerry, who will pull troops out of Iraq and Afganistan? I think that IF THEY CAN they will strike the US and strike as hard as possible to try and get a Madrid effect. If you don't know what that is, look back at the spanish(spain) elections and what happened to thier elections after the bombings there. The best time for them to strike would be close to the election so everyone is scared and hopefully (for them) will vote for change (Kerry), but not too long before because they may rally around the president. They hopefully will not be able to attack us here, but then they may attack overseas against US interests. We already can see that they have stepped up attacks in Iraq, the news say it's to disrupt the Iraqi election in January, but I think that is not the case, they want Bush out and the best way is to make it look like Iraq is unstable. The media is only too happy to help. Of course if they raise the alert level, the liberals will scream that it's to divert attention and to help the Bush election bid, and if something does happen, they'll scream that they had no warning.

October 11, 2004

I have posted a review of Fahrenheit 911.

October 8, 2004

This is horrible! Someone was fooled by this? I could make a much better fake teaser poster then this. Is it just because I know photoshop that I can easily see it's fake? I can probably tell you exactly where they cloned from in some spots, Give me the same images they used and I'll make a much better one in less then an hour! Did they know what prespective is, geez. Horrible, just horrible.

In the camp of the enemy.

Yesterday we went and saw Michael Moor(on)e speak at UCF. It was a good speech and rallied his troops. A couple of protesters were there. I was kind of disappointed, he just bashed Bush and praised Kerry like I figured he would, kind of ho-hum. Only thing I could really dispute would be that he said there is more of them then of the Republicans. Not sure what that meant. More Democrats? more Kerry Supporters? more what? He couldn't really back that claim anyway unless they polled everyone in America. So I'll leave it at that.

Liberals say they are open-minded, in a way I agree, but at the rally yesterday, they proved that most really are not. The people there were very angry and hostile towards the Pro-Bush protesters. I'm sure that if was the other way around it would have been the same, but don't the liberals always bitch and moan that they have a right to protest? Then the Pro-Bush crowd had a right to be there also, and the 'open-minded' liberals should have welcomed them, not yelled and screamed and given them the finger!

I was there to hear the other side, I listen and read all about both side before taking a stand. I also know that Michael Moore lies... In his books, his movies and in his speeches. How do I know this, I look it up. We talked to several people yesterday, one tried to sign us up for Move On, we told her no, that we were voting for Bush, she told us it was just to get voters out, that it wasn't anti-bush... right, anyway, she turned cold when we turned her down yet again. So we were waiting on his fatness to arrive, when the lady seated next to us starts talking to us, we make it clear that we are not moorites and don't buy his bullshit. she gets defensive right away, 'Well what proof do you have that he lies?'. I'm here to listen to his speech, not debate the merits of his lies, I brought a cooler and a camera, not paperwork, not that she would have believed ANYTHING I brought. 'As Michael Moore says, if he's lying, why doesn't anyone sue him?' is her next question. Without getting into the lawsuits that have been filed against him, most people don't sue him for the simple reason that no lawyer would take the case. Why? because first libel and slander are very hard to prove, and second, you have to prove monetary damages. You would end up spending a lot of time and money and probrably never make any of it back. Lawyers won't take a case that they won't make money on, don't believe me? name the last libel or slander case you have ever heard of that made money? Falwell lost his libel suit to Husler. Moore knows this, and that is why he doesn't sue the people that say he lied, they are slandering his name are they not? I'll go so far as calling him a big fat stupid liar, if you can prove you are not a big fat stupid liar then that's libel... sue me! Then there is the fact that his followers don't believe he is lying, even if you show them the proof, it's not lying, it's creative editing. The women asks me how I know he lies and I tell her, I research it. Like what she asks and I give her an example from Bowling, 'well I don't know anything about that' is the response I get, I can already tell she has made up her mind and I won't change it. Her husband, also already tired of his hero being attack remarks, 'they all spin things to their way' (or something to that effect) to which I respond, that's why I look things up myself! The conversation ended there for a while when the woman turns to me and nastily asks 'Is any of you family in Iraq?' yes and they are proud to be there as are, and have been some friends of mine! during the conversation, she had asked what website I got my information from, well I get it from many, but I told her to go to moorelies.com I had to tell her several times because she kept interupting me and I really don't think she ever really got it, not that she would really go there. She asked, do they have sources? Yes, unlike MichaelMoore.com which has no sources and no comments allowed they list sources and let you comment. She then went on about how it was probrably a Michael Moore attack site. Yes it is, but they prove their attacks. The woman was reading a book, something about the 'Bush Dynasty'. I haven't read the book so I can't comment on it, but after sitting quiet for a while she turned and angrily said something about that is country wasn't a dynasty and that is what the Bushes wanted? well let's see:

dy·nas·ty     P   Pronunciation Key  (dn-st)
n. pl. dy·nas·ties
1. A succession of rulers from the same family or line.

If I remember correctly, the dynasty was interupted for eight years, not really a succession, but we'll give her that. I guess it's a dynasty when it's republicans, but when it's the Democrats it's Camelot? Don't we all just long for the time of Camelot? The womanizers, the drunkards, the rapists and the murderers? To bad John (fishbait) Junior isn't around to bring it back! Sure, it never got to be a dynasty, but it would have if not for the above mentioned things and some bullets!

One last thing... in case you have the mistaken impression that I am some right wing nut case, I am probrably more of a liberal then most Democrats, I just think you Democrats are just a bunch of whiney cry-babies and as Hans & Franz and Ahhnold say 'little girlie men'. If you don't believe me, look around the site at my other views.

'I will keep my eye on the ball' John Kerry

Shouldn't you keep your eyes open for that?

October 1, 2004

Well here is the most current design, I put it on cafepress and may try getting it on a T-shirt but I'm not sure they will print it, it is a parady, but CBS may protest! I don't really plan on making money off of them, just a few for friends and family. Click on the image to go to cafepress.

September 30 , 2004

Not sure if I like the logo, But I threw it together quickly. I'll probably will work on it some more. Don't really like the out-a-roof line and it shouldn't be upside down.

Looking at the soapbox I reallize that I haven't posted a rant in almost a year. Well, tis the season almost, when the religious show get me thinking(always a bad thing), so this is a warning to those that are easily offended, I have a few thoughts on my mind already and NO, they are NOT aimed at anyone I know! The first one cooking is about Sept. 11 and may be up soon, I want to see that movie I talked about yesterday first. I may even throw some shots at Scary Big Head Kerry too, just to rile the democrats out there!

September 29 , 2004

Well looks like it's good news about Rachel's cousin-in-law Jim, he should be home today, he'll just be wearing a stylish back brace for about 6 weeks. Guess we'll have to ask someone else to help us with our roof!

I just don't get conspiracy nuts, they create these huge theories to explain things that don't need much explaination. TWA flight 800 comes to mind, TWA 800 exploded and crashed because of a short in the fuel tank. Yet there are all sorts of 'theories' to explain it. A missle strike is one of them, nevermind that the NTSB found no evidence of a strike, after all, the hundreds of investigators are in on the conpiracy. I like the theory that it was shot down by a terrorist firing a shoulder launched missle from a boat. It would be better odds to win the lottery then this to have happened. A shoulder fired missle isn't very easy to fire, very few (actually only one, and then barely) have the range to have reached the jet that was over a mile high, and the waves that night were over eight feet high. So we are to believe that someone on a highly pitching boat, firing a stinger missle, hit a target at night he could only see as a tiny light at a distance that was at the very end of the range of the missle, and after all that, either they left no evidence or the NTSB and the FBI covered it up! So what brought this on? well I saw a picture of the cover of a DVD called 911: in plain site. While I'm not quite sure what their theorys are, they state that 9/11 is the largest government cover up ever. that the planes that crashed into the towers were not civilian jets but military (because they had no windows?) that no planes crashes into the pentagon, that the towers were brought down by explosions after the plane crashes. All this was done with millions of people watching live on TV and none of the hundreds of video cameras spotted anything. I'll have to watch the show and see how they explain away everything! I'll see about reviewing it, and maybe some of the other 9/11 conspiracy 'movies'. I have a few already, but til now I haven't really wanted to watch them.

September 28 , 2004

The hurricanes are over (for now) but their aftermath continues. We bitch and moan about our roof and leaks, but we are really lucky. My wife's cousin-in-law Jim fell off a roof and broke his back. This is the second major injury to family and friends. My friend and co-worker Chris Mack was boarding up his girlfriend's bar when the wndow broke and slashed his right arm severely and he had to have surgery. He's a great artist and he is right handed, hopefully he can recover fully from his injury. As for Jim's injurys, I'm not sure how severe they are, but thinking back to just yesterday when I was on the roof putting tarps up, It could just as easily have been me or my wife. There are hundreds if not thousands of others out there hurt, injured, or killed by these hurricanes... Then there are the morons that use the storms as GOD's wraith because of an election

September 25 , 2004

WTF? We sit here waiting for yet another hurricane and are right in its path again! I probably won't have internet again tomorrow so I'm blogging today. We sort of got surprised by Jeanne, she had been written off because she was just hanging out and not moving very much. I drew the cartoon below yesterday at work, I thought it was funny. I have several ideas for designs for T-Shirts for the hurricanes and so does Rachel. We should have a bunch made and sell them too get money to pay the insurance deductable!

'What if in fact, you're just disgusting? razzle dazzle them, and they'll never catch wise' - Chicago

I saw this graphic the other day that didn't seem right to me, but it was small and I really couldn't read what it said. I ran across a larger version today and after reading it, I knew it had been changed to fit the 'facts'. Here's a small version of the graphic:

It basicly says that Charley, Frances and Ivan went through only the counties in Florida that voted for Bush. Just looking at it I could tell the tracks were wrong. So, using the newspaper sources from work I got this:

Which is a much different track. I then overlayed the true track with the 'Fake' tracks and came up with:

Which blows their theory out of the water as you can see that several Gore counties got hit! Don't worry if you can't make out the graphics, they are linked to a page with the larger versions. Oh and if you are wondering where Ivan is on the tracks, Ivan hit just the very northern tip of Escambia county, and was nowhere near where they put it on the fake tracks graphic. I also have a great source for the tracks I have, they come from NOAA and AP and are fully credited. The sad part is that people that don't know will believe this BS.

Why do vegeterians eat meat flavored stuff? I see fakon and veggieburgers and fake fish and other vegeterian friendly foods. One vegeterian told me that eating flesh was disgusting, so why do they flavor tofu and soy to taste like meat? I eat meat and I have never seen carrot flavored ham or broccoli flavored chicken or tomato flavored fish and I wouldn't think of buying it anyway.

September 15 , 2004

I've been wanting to do some photography lately, but unfortunately I don't have a studio or space to set one up and I would need some models, clothes, props, etc. I can't wait til we get out of here, we need more space! I have thought about drawing, But I'm not really that good at drawing people. Maybe I'll try some anime, something new.

September 13 , 2004

Well it looks like Ivan will miss us, unless he take a sharp right turn! Hopefully we'll be able to put the house on the market. Of course there is TS11 forming right now!!!

Star Wars finally arrives on DVD next Tuesday (10/21), with the changes that Lucas has made. I don't like the changes or the reasons he states for them. I guess since they are his movies he can change them, but he could at least release the original versions. I don't mind him enhancing the video and audio and the special effects, but changing the story is just wrong. I don't like the prequels, I think they suck, and the biggest reason is that he made them family films! the first two films were not really family films, he seems to have started with Jedi, That was the worst and most predictable of the three films. Did we really need those dumb ewoks? Care bears in space! Then episode one had that jar-jar shit. What crap does he have for the kids in episode 3? Maybe Brats Dolls to get the little girls interested? Betty Spaghetty? I don't know what's popular with little boys (I have a daughter), but I'm sure he could make something popular into a stupid annoying alien for them! Of course I want to see how he is going to KILL EVERY JEDI in a nice way for the kiddies! Will he cop out (yes) and not show any of it as he did in Episode 2 when Anakin killed all the sand people? Princess Amadala loved when Anakin told her he committed mass murder, she is sure to love it when he tells her he killed all the Jedi!

I'm hoping that the house we buy will have an extra room that I can use as a studio, not a bedroom really, they are usually too small, but a room like a bonus room or something large that will serve the purpose. We saw a house that had a 3 car garage, but it was a 2 car and a 1 car garage separated. I could have used the 1 car garage as a studio. But seeing as we have been delayed about two months because of hurricanes and home prices haven't been delayed in their climb upwards, it may not be possible to get what I want. I hate that I want to take photographs and really have no place to do it.

Photoshop World - Day 2 photos

Sorry they took so long, I've been busy preparing for Hurricane Frances. I forgot to mention that Wacom announced the release of the Intous3. I was planning on picking one up but with the Hurricane bearing down, I didn't want to spend money when I don't know If we'll be homeless tomorrow!

Photoshop World - Day 1 photos

I'm headed to PSW day 2. I am not sure if PSW day 3 will happen. In case you haven't heard, Hurricane Frances has us in her sights. Tropical storm force winds are projected to start tomorrow. Having been hit by Hurricane Charley just two weeks ago, I'm not looking forward too it, not to mention we are all out of hurricane mix and rum! I will try posting Day 2 photo tonight.

Just as I feared, Looks like day 3 of PSW has been cancelled. They added two more sessions of classes to try and fit some of tomorrows classes, but one I wanted was axed. I'll try and post photos from the hurricane truncated PSW later, right now I have to get ready for France's unwelcome visit.

The new iMac G5

August 30, 2004

I finished fixing the sliding glass door yesterday, now we just need to paint the back wall and fix the roof. Anyone know a painter and/or roofer I can use? One that speaks english. I'll probably have to do it myself. I don't think we'll ever get the house on the market, or by the time we do the interest rates and home prices will have skyrocketed out of our price range. I hate my life. fucking stubborn heart.

August 29, 2004

Wow, we've had Internet for more then just a few hours, maybe it's back for a while!

Well let's see, the image I posted yesterday seems to be corrupt, some of you can see it, others can't. I can't open it in PS so it may be lost. I choose to blame Kerry's big head. The jpeg format couldn't handle something that large!

I saw the protestors in New York against the war, one of them complained that too many of the troops were dying and they should come home. They need to look at the death rate in the US before making a statement like that. More people are murdered in larger cities on one weekend then a week in Iraq.

Rachel tried out for American Idol this past week. I'm proud of her for trying her best, she is a great singer. She was upset about a comment on totalfark that someone posted. She has nothing to be upset about from what probably is a 30+ year old geek that still lives in his mom's basement and whose chair is contoured to his fat ass from looking at porn and whose only sexual release is tossing off to dirty magazines in the bathroom, As has been said 'do not regret the things you have done, only regret the things you should have done.'

Paul Hamm won the gold metal in the all around and a day and a half later the Koreans point out an error in the judging and want the gold metal to go to them? That's just stupid. Yes, there was a mistake, but things like that happen all the time, you don't change the score after the game has been over for so long. If the judging was rigged or there was fowl play then maybe. But that was clearly not the case here. If they start going back over the whole performance, then the Korean still lost because another error in his favor was found. It was a deduction was not taken from his score and would have had him losing by even more. Then that ugly Russian chick (NSFW - 'She's a man, baby!') complained that the Americans were given an advantage. Now what proof does she have? None at all. I guess the Americans made her fall in both her performances? How about the Greeks holding up the 200 meter race booing and all? Just because the Greek runner wasn't there. He didn't show up for a drug test then was supposed to go for another one but also missed it and got into an auto accident that night then pulled out of the competition. If they had anyone to be angry with it's the Greek runner.

Photoshop World is almost here. It starts on Tuesday, but I don't go until Wednesday. The Nikon Safari class I wanted to take on Tuesday Sold out before I could get in. Oh well, at least I'll be at the main part. I plan on taking my camera and laptop (they'll have wireless access) and hope to blog and post pictures from there. Can't wait.

I love to cook, if I could I would cook 4 or 5 days a week. When I had my house and was alone, I would go every night to the store and buy food to cook. I had a kitchen that was useable and I liked it. When we moved to a house we rented it also had a good kitchen and we cooked a lot in there too. Unfortunately we have not had a good kitchen since then and we don't cook as often or as creatively. The house we buy has to have a good kitchen.

I love cookbooks, I go to the book stores and look at them all the time. If I could I would buy all the ones I like. I do have a fairly large collection. Having read the above, that won't come as a surprise. The ones I like are the kind that have lots of pictures. I don't like the cookbooks that don't have photos of what I am making. The best are the ones that have photos for all the recipes. I think that the real surprise is that I never actually follow the recipes, that is why I need pictures. I just glance at the ingredients and then make it the way I think it should be. That is also the reason I don't like baking as much, it has to be exact. Not that I can't bake, I am fairly good at it, I just prefer cooking.

August 28, 2004

Internet is back... for how long I don't know. I hate brighthouse. when we move, I may switch to someone else.

Anyway here is a picture I thought was funny:

yea, I modified it. You can see it larger if you like.

August 26, 2004

10:29a - Well Rachel has moved from the main area to a smaller area to await her audition. She had her patriotic hat on and they filmed her for the show, hopefully it doesn't end up on the cutting room floor!

I just heard from Rachel and it looks like disappointment, the judges must be deaf. I'm sure you will soon be able to read her thoughts on her site. She may still be on the show so watch the Orlando Audition and play Where's Rachel!

August 25, 2004

Elvis has entered the building...err that should be Rachel. Well after waiting in line outside for about 4 hours, she is finally inside the convention center to wait till tomorrow to audition for American Idol. If any of you wish to visit her, think again, apparently they are not letting people enter. Call her first, as things may change. I'll post updates as I get them.

Well I have heard from Rachel several times today and it's basically a waiting game right now. the auditions don't even start till tomorrow and then Simon and the other judges won't even be here till the beginning of September(the 9th I think). This will probably be the last update for today as we once again have no internet, it went out after 2 hours and they say it won't be back till friday. I'll post more tomorrow.

Well you are in luck, When I got back from seeing Rachel the internet was back! I took Rachel some bottles of water, her pillow and a blanket. I took some pictures and I brought back a few so here is one

If you watch Fox news they are showing inside the Convention Center, you may catch a glimpse of her.

August 22, 2004

We have internet! Finally.

So we survived Charley much better then most of our neighbors, just a few shingles were damaged and that was pretty much it. The rest of the area didn't fair as well. Photos are online at here. We stood outside for most of the storm in a kinda protected area and watched the trees bend and break and unknown things fly by in the darkness. The storm was incredible, with sustained winds at 105 mph and gusts at 120+ mph. Where the true strength of the winds shows is in the billboards on huge i beams that it bent and twisted into unrecognizable works of art. Huge trees were snapped in two or ripped from the ground. The back roads we use to avoid traffic to and from work are all but undrivable, blocked by trees and debris. I can only imagine if the storm had hit at 145 mph as in Port Charlotte, or if it had hit with the strength of Andrew which had gusts of 200+ mph.

On another note, in my driving around town I noticed that all the churches I've seen have had damage, yet even with huge trees all around it, the abortion clinic across from my work had no damage!

August 17, 2004

'I'm back, in the blog'

Well, we have power back at the house again, unfortunately we still have no internet, and at work I have to code my blog manually (which is how I'm doing it now). It's not that I don't like coding, it's that I type so slow that it take much longer to have to type in the code and the blog!

We lost power at about 8:30 on friday and were without all weekend. I plan to blog more about it but may wait till I get internet at the house. It was a very strange couple of days, and it actually still is, though it is getting a little more back to normal... at least for us. There are some people out there that still have no power or water and I can relate to how the are felling, at work here there are still some that are trying to get back to normal. One of my co-workers lives out near the coast and we heard that his home and a bar they own were both damaged.

Well I have to get back to work, I'll try and blog again soon.

August 14, 2004

We will be without power for a few days. We're using the wireless at a local store. You can check my wife's site if you want updates or to see the pictures she posted. She'll update more frequently than I will.

August 13, 2004

In case you don't know, we are in Orlando Florida, At this moment, Hurricane Charley is barreling down towards us. Winds are at 145 mph and increasing. we have provisions to ride out the storm. Tampa seems to have been spared. I'll try to continue to updating over the course of the night, but power may go out.

we are here!

At 4:50pm, we are still not really feeling the effects of Charley fully. We have had rain and wind from the feeder bands but not from the full force. Right now it appears to be the calm before the storm.

ominous sounds can be heard in the distance, it's 5:30 and the rain falls as a prelude to the storm. the grumbling, growls filter in from the southwest, the darkness advances.

At 5:39 we have lost video... DirecTV is out. We are blind in the storm.

5:45 Yay, TV is back!

5:46 D'oh, spoke too soon!

6:05 TV is on and off

latest position.

Here is a picture of the rain, still not to bad, but we can hear it coming.

Not sure how much longer we'll have power, I have the cable modem and wireless on the UPS so hopefully we can blog even if we lose power.

6:18 WOW, just watched video of the roof being ripped off of a post office in Ft Myers. The rain has let up a bit, it's only a drizzle now, another feeder band passiing through. Just waiting for now.

6:45 It's erie outside, quiet and deserted, no sounds of people or cars, just the sound of the falling rain. I went outside and stood in the rain and watched the clouds moving swiftly across the sky.

7:22 looks like we are between the red on the map, still pretty calm, but looks like the worst is closing in fast.

7:35 Was just outside and the wind is starting to pick up, there is a slight breeze with occasional gusts.

7:50 Winds are getting stronger, at least that is what I can tell from the trees swayng in the backyard. Rachel is mixing up another tasty beverage, of course it's a hurricane! That's the drink of choice til we run out of the mix...Power went out twice while I was typing this. It's back now though not sure when it will go out again.

8:10 We should start getting bad very soon, we may not be able to post if the power goes out, though we might be able to use the laptop to connect to the web. It's getting to dark to take pictures outside so may have to wait til morning to photograph the aftermath. Power is out. and on again!

8:25 The wind has seriously picked up in the last 10-15 minutes, you can hear it howling outside. We seem to be having lots of brownouts and short power outages. looks like Charley is making his appearence.

More fuel to the fire:

Another beheading in Iraq? The picture is larger if you choose to view it, and if you have the stomach for it, it links to the video (4.2megs). It's in shit Windows media format which I normally wouldn't soil my site with, but as I have said, Americans need to be reminded of who we are fighting!

In other news... OMG a jury actually found that a 12 year old that fell though the ceiling of her school was to blame for her own injuries. She had sued the school for damages even though she had cut class and went into places that she knew were off limits to her, where she finally fell 50 feet into the auditorium. If only all juries actually had brains like that we wouldn't have such dumb ass lawsuits. People need to take responsibility for their own actions.

George Lucas is opposed to colorizing the Three Stooges! What a f--king hypocrite, this is the man who is changing the Star Wars movies YET AGAIN for the new DVD version. Han Shoots First!

Hurricane Bonnie and Charlie are headed our way, Bonnie looks to just graze us, but Charlie's going to Disney World! Have to get all the hurricane provisions.. Rum, Vodka, Tequila, etc.. Now where is that hurricane mix and the blender, we need to get crushed ice in case the power goes out! Of course, we put my comics out in the shed so it will probably fly away!

I have been busy all weekend, just taking a little break, I haven't been blogging because I have had problems with Dreamweaver at work and at home we have been busy getting the house ready to put on the market. I finally finished all the doors, just have one more to hang but we may wait on it as it is the door to the utility room and it gets heavy usage and it really gets battered. We didn't really get as much as I hoped we would this weekend.

August 3, 2004

I seem to be having problems with Dreamweaver again, this blog is being coded manually!

Seems Michael Moore was once again caught in another lie... He claims his 'crockumentarys' are fact, so how does he explain changing a newspaper headline? In F911 he shows a newspaper headline in the Bloomington Pantagraph. That headline never appeared in the paper and was actually in the letters page and the opinion of a reader of the paper! How can this be defended? The paper is suing him. Mooreites love to defend him, saying that his editing doesn't effect the facts, of course it does, chopping up someone's speech and creating one that fits with what you want is creating fiction, JFK by Oliver Stone (or all the president's men, ect...) isn't considered a documentary is it? If I took a photo of Michael Moore and a photo of Osama and 'edited' them together, would I be truthful passing it off as real? Even if they were at the exact same location, it would be a lie. Changing the headline of a newspaper is also a lie.

The Village: I just got back from seeing the Village, M. Night Shyamalan's latest movie. First off let me say that I liked it a lot. That being said, I have to say that I was disappointed with it. Let's talk about the good, the cinematography was excellent, the muted colors added to the whole creepy feel. the forest scenes were scary and beautiful at the same time, they were sort of Blair Witch but done ten times better. The performances were very good, Adrian Brody and Joaquin Phoenix were excellent. Shyamalan's direction was great, this may be his best yet, director wise. The story and plot was good. The Bad? Well maybe it's just me, I get this problem a lot. It was predictable, without revealing too much, I guessed what was up five minutes into the movie, I had already figured out part from the trailer. Maybe I was disappointed because I was truly hoping that I was wrong and I wasn't. It happens to me a lot and people hate when i lean over and tell them the end, I'm usually (actually always) right, no matter how far fetched or how big a 'surprise' it's supposed to be. M. Night Shyamalan, usually at least, takes me longer before I figure out the end. Rachel liked it a lot too, so I'll give it four stars out of five.

Hypocrites: This one is kinda obscure, most of you have seen the Calvin (from the Calvin and Hobbs comic strip) stickers that show him peeing on various things. Today I saw one on a car that showed him praying in front of a cross, I had seen it before, but it struck me that this was stealing and tho shall not steal is in the bible. How do I know this is stealing? Because Calvin is copyrighted artwork owned by Universal Press syndicate and artist Bill Watterson, and Watterson does not sell or allow Calvin's image too be used. All stickers with Calvin (or Hobbs) image are used illegally, There's just to many of them for UPS to go after them all. So using this image is illegal and against the Ten Commandments.

This one is much more obvious, Anti-war protesters beat the crap out of an anti-abortion protester in Boston.

George Lucas is getting really creative, They officially announced the title for Episode III, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. It had been rumored for a while but it was just announced. In case you didn't know, the original name of return of the jedi was revenge of the jedi (some posters and advertisements had already been printed with that name), just a quick switch of the last word and he was set. Well, at least it make it easy to come up with a name for it... Ep. III: Revenge of the Sh... well you all know how I fell about Ep. 1 and 2, you figure it out.

We are going house hunting again today, I get the feeling that we waited to long, interest rates are going up, houses are selling faster then they can build them and prices are skyrocketing (they go up 5-6k every month). All the developments we have been to are sold out and the new ones are farther away from where we would like and at much higher prices.

Lance Armstrong won his sixth Tour de France, I'm sure the French all have their panties in a bunch over that. An American with only one nut has beaten them again! Those fucking pansies are probably screaming that he's on drugs again, never mind that all his drug test have come out clean! And looking back over all the past races, I see they didn't hold them between 1940 and 1946, now why was that? Oh yea, they were Germany's bitch at the time. And who went in and freed their sissy asses?

I got a new book today:

I highly recommend it, it shows how gullible people are to lies and to a film that labels itself as a documentary when in reality it's more fictional propaganda. Funny how the people that question the government and love Moore, never question or mistrust him!

We were out looking at houses over the weekend. Yea, we want to get a bigger home in a better neighborhood. I'm not sure what would be better though, should we get a new house or an existing home? An existing home has more character and trees and a larger yard then a new home, but it comes with whatever problems it may have, and you are stuck fixing them, and anything that you don't like you are either stuck with, or you have to spend more money to get what you like. If the colors are not to your liking you have to paint, if the kitchen sucks, you have to remodel, etc. New homes would hopefully not have as many serious problems, you can get it the way you want it and upgrading it is easier and somewhat less expensive. but they come with smaller yards (usually), you have homeowners assc. fees and the rules that they set up, and the developement is usually more cookie cutter then older homes.

We only looked at new homes this time around. The one we liked the most had a great kitchen, which for us is important, and it had large rooms, the problem I had with it was that it had a long hallway, hallways are such a waste of space. The developement we saw it in was sold out, but they are building a new one close by, unfortunately it will be 15-20k more at the new place.

See, I'm not the only one!

Looks like the Superman movie may be saved from the crapheap that is DC Comics movies. Bryan Singer has been given the nod to direct! WOW, this is great, if he can do for supes what he did for X-Men then we may have a hit. Hopefully it doesn't delay X3 though.

July 15, 2004

Continuing the movie Blog, some info on upcoming DC comics movies.

Catwoman, this pussy needs to douche cause it looks like it stinks! Superman is looking worse and worse, but on a good note, McG is out. The only DC comic that looks promising is Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan is helming and the story looks good, it may turn out to be WBs only comics movie hit and maybe even better then Tim Burton's original.

When is Warner Brothers (DC) gonna realize that script by committee doesn't work? Hell they had taken Catwoman completely out of the DC universe before the backlash from the fans made them put her back in. Apparently they think putting Halley Berry in a skimpy costume will make up for the crap story? I'm sorry, but a boobless skinny chick in leather who can't act very well doesn't do it for me. Michelle Pfeiffer was a much better Catwoman.

July 14, 2004

Well I've been yelled at for not blogging, It's just that I have been busy at work this week and I'm tired when I get home.

Hmm, what to blog about...

Will Smith is a good actor, a good COMIC actor. The problem is that I don't think he is good for serious roles, and unfortunately, they keep casting him in sci-fi roles. I think that discredits whatever sci-fi movie he is in. While ID4 was crap from beginning to end, his wisecracks did nothing to help the movie, in fact it made things worse in my opinion. MIB was a much better movie, and I think it was made as more of a comedy sci-fi action movie so it worked. He was helped out by the straight guy Tommy Lee Jones. MIB2 was not as good a movie, but having been already set up in the first movie, Will Smith was as expected. Wild Wild West was more crap and made worse by Will's wisecracks. In non sci-fi, he fairs better. Bad Boys was a comedy action movie and Ali, while a serious drama, played well because Ali was kinda a wisecracker too.

I guess you realize I'm leading up too I Robot (Hardwire actually, no relation to Asimov). The story looks like it could be interesting, but I have a serious problem with Will playing the lead. Why? Well you would think that this would be a serious movie about robots and have a thought provoking story. Having Will throwing out one liners just makes no sense. don't believe me? Well think of Will saying 'I have got to get me one of these' standing next to an x-wing about to launch an attack on the death star? How about if he played Decker? Maybe playing Ripley in Alien (first movie)? Yes there were some great one liners in Aliens, but Ripley was serious and focused. As the lead in I Robot, he should take it seriously. Seeing the trailers shows that this will not be the case.

Casting for the Fantastic Four movie: Ioan Gruffud (Mr. Fantastic), Jessica Alba (Sue Storm), Chris Evans (Johnny Storm), Michael Chiklis (Thing), And not official yet, Ray Liotta as Doctor Doom. Not sure about the rest, but I think Chiklis and Alba are great casting, Tho Invisible girl was a blonde. Guess they'll need bleach. 'Is that a root?' 'No, it's a scab!' - Cecil B. Demented

A little more movie news, one movie on my must see list is Saw... Looks to be an awesome horror flick. Even the trailer is scary.

On another note, who the fuck would use windows media? What a piece of shit format that is. And the sheep just follow.

'If I wanted your opinion, I would give it to you'

I love hate mail, it warms my heart.

In case anyone is under the impression that I approve of female circumcision, I don't, I think it is a horrible practice and nowhere in my blog did I indicate different.

I was having email problems last night, I could recieve but couldn't send, It seems to have been fixed.

'Marla, the cut on the roof of your mouth that would heal if you would just quit tonguing it'

I have been eating sour candy and salt & vinegar potty-toe chips a lot, the sores on the roof of my mouth and tongue are mostly gone, but I have one on my cheek that I keep tonguing.

I was watching Nip/Tuck last night. They had a woman that had been circumcised and wanted her clitoris rebuilt. The thing is that they kept saying that she had been mutilated. Are not hundreds of thousands of males (mostly little boys) not circumcised daily? Why is that not considered mutilation? And don't think it's not the same, the clitoris and the foreskin both have thousands of nerves and sensations and are sexual in nature. Women have a harder time reaching orgasm whether or not they are circumcised. Why is it fine when boys get mutilated but not when girls do?

Over the weekend we were in Winter Park for the July 4th festivities when two Rollins College students came up to us and asked if we would participate in a survey on Religion. We decided to help them out and Rachel took it then made me take it and then we hunted down her mom so she could take it. They got three vastly different opinions on the matter. I am thinking of a rant about it to post in the soapbox, unfortunately I don't have time today to do it...maybe tomorrow.

July 6, 2004

I just finished reading (listening to!) I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. I had read it back in High School but wanted to refresh my memory for the movie. I thought I had read the story that they turned into the movie (I, Robot is actually a group of short stories) but I was wrong, The movie isn't even Asimov's work at all, It is a screenplay called Hardwire that they changed the name of and added one of the characters (Susan Calven) from I, Robot. I had thought it was one of the stories , but there isn't any detective stories in I, Robot. I Think that I was thinking of the other robot books of Asimov, Caves of Steel or Robots of Dawn are the two detective novels that come to mind. So basicly they are using Asimov's name to make their movie more appealing. So if you truely want to experience I, Robot, Read the book, it's a classic.

Hardwire may or may not be a good movie, but it's not I, Robot

If a criminal took a hostage, say a Truck Driver or even a Police Officer, and demanded the release of all prisoners in the US (or even just the state) or they would kill the hostage.. How many of you would agree to this? Apparently 25% would, that is the poll that CNN has on their site. Of course they ask if the prisoners in Iraq should be released for the life of one hostage. 25% think they should. HOW STUPID IS THAT? First off, how smart is it to release hundreds of people that will turn around and kill more of our soldiers? second off, there is very little chance that they would honor their word, honor isn't in their vocabulary. Third off, What will they (or the hundreds of released prisoners) ask for with the next hostage(s)?

No Snakes were harmed in the making of this blog

It's been pretty exciting around here the last two days, and it's only 11am! Last night there was a big storm, lots of thunder, lightening, wind and rain. The wind ripped the flagpole down and damaged the aluminum trim that it was screwed through. This morning I had to yank the rest of it down to straighten it and then reinstall it. I also had to remove the flag bracket cause it wouldn't work in that spot again.

'He's an ugly little cuss isn't he?' 'I think he can hear you Ray!'

So i'm in the backyard working on a piece of wood to anchor down the Flag bracket when Rachel calls me over to the air conditioner. 'there's a snake!'. So I start looking for the snake and he tagged me in the finger. unfortunately I didn't see what kind of snake it was, so Rachel called 911 and the paramedics came and they caught the snake. It wasn't poisonous so I'll live

I'm more angry that he was able to tag me, I've caught hundreds of snakes and never got tagged. My reaction time is slipping.

It's tough trying to maintain three different web sites and keep them up to date. I have this site which is my personal site to rant and rave about whatever I feel like. Then there is Demented Films, which is the web site for my film that I am working on and other short films for the demented crew. Demented was closed for a while but I have decided to continue on without the ones that jumped ship on us, that means the demented crew is down to three. Now I have jimpereira.com / jaimelpereira.com, both domains go to the same site. this site is going to be to showcase my photography and maybe get some photography work on the side. If you go there, it is just starting and not much is there. I have a lot of photography to sort though and scan if need be. then I still have to post them. that may take a while.

Thank God it's friday. I don't know what we will do this weekend, but I'm sure glad it's here. It has been a long week and looking at the clock that still only reads 3:40, it looks like the day is slowing down! Last week we were robbed of our Saturday because we sat all day waiting for the cable guy to come and fix the internet connection, he showed up at 4 when he was scheduled to be there between 10 and 2. We did get a $20 credit because he was late, but we wasted the day doing nothing!

It's too fucking hot, I was hoping to go hiking and do some photography tomorrow, but the fucking heat is horrible even in the early mornings, I HATE FLORIDA.

We plan on going to Waterford for the 4th next week, we usually take the CR-V and have a picnic there before the fireworks

I think I'll sleep in tomorrow, I usually get up around 7 on Saturdays, I think I'll stay in bed till at least 7:05

My brother is going to get me a tablet, just the small 4x5 wacom they sell at Best Buy, but it's better then a mouse and I plan on getting a 9x12 tablet hopefully at Photoshop World in September. The small tablet should hold me until then. HOPEFULLY Tony remembers or LINDA remembers to remind him

Black vodka

We have been searching for this since we heard about it back in October of last year. We wanted to use it for our wedding but were unable to locate it locally in time. Well we have kept looking (we didn't want to order online), hoping to find it in time for this years Halloween party but have had no luck. Today we stopped by our liquor store to get vodka and the owner (who knows us) says 'I got that Black Vodka you asked about, I hope it's the right one', and it was. we picked up a bottle and are testing it now. our liquor store is the best!

Wow, there was a lot of lightening tonight!

Well it seems some of the 'facts' in Michael Moore's movie Fahrenheit 9/11 are actually fiction. Gee that's a surprise seeing as his last documentary 'Bowling for Columbine' was also a work of fiction, unfortunately most people are unaware of that. The problem with Michael Moore is that he shows only the 'facts' to support his version of events and to enrage the audience. In the trailer to 9/11 he likes to show President Bush talking about Al Qaeda and then cut to a scene of him playing golf, even if there was nothing in between the two scenes.. so what? What would you prefer, that he hide away somewhere and listen to war reports or something? We can't let Al Qaeda dictate what we do or they win. We have to go on, and I'm sure I could find hundreds of photos and videos of other presidents out playing and such, even in bad times. What would you have him doing... maybe getting his cock sucked?

And on that subject, I have seen a bumper sticker that reads 'nobody died, when Clinton lied'. I guess that refers to the war in Iraq and how no WMDs were found. I won't get into the fact that the evidence does support that he had them, even the French admitted it. But I digress, back to the quote, I have a rhyme too:

While Monica Blew, Al Qaeda grew

So maybe some people did die

how about:

While Clinton got head, Bin Laden shoulda been dead

Clinton people like to say that they told the Bush administration that Al Qaeda should be a top priority and that he should have done something, hmm, Bush had like 7-8 months in office before 9/11, Clinton was in office 8 years, why didn't he do something? Why did he pass the buck? Al Qaeda attacked the WTC back in '93. Who was in Office at the time? What did Clinton do?

I'm going to Photoshop World!

I went to Photoshop World two years ago in Tampa, but really didn't want to go to the one in Miami.. I don't like Miami, not that I like Orlando much better, but I do live here!

June 21 , 2004

I was watching the Salem's Lot mini-series last night, I have no idea what is going on. I realize that they changed the story somewhat to bring it up to date, the original was set in the seventies while this one is set today, but the facts have change drastically, I happen to be listening to the audiobook currently and i'm about 1/3 of the way through and it is a lot different then the movie. I thought I might be confused because of that, but Rachel is confused to, and she has never read it. maybe it will come together better after seeing part 2 tonight.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.

Have you noticed that the news media doesn't show pictures of the body of the American beheaded in Saudi Arabia? Of course, the pictures of the abuse at Abu Ghraib prison were on the screen almost 24/7.Well I think the American public should see them.

I shrank them down, but you can view them bigger if you want. This is what we are fighting, so don't give me any bullshit about torture at the prison. I don't condone the abuse, but these are the animals that we have to deal with. And yes, I know that these are extremist that carry out the attacks, the problem is that more then 50% (in some countries up to 70%) of the muslins in arab countries support the extremists. That means they may not want to do it themselves, but they want others to kill Americans and other non-muslins. I think These pictures and pictures of the bodies of the victims of 9/11 should be printed up on billboards so Americans can all see the true 'torture'. Americans should be angry, they shouldn't forget as some already have.

Oh and by the way, I went to some anti-war web sites. They went on and on about how wrong the war in iraq is.. yet they had links to the extremist web sites where I found the photos...

I don't really think blogging is appropriate today. My best friend Duane's father passed away today, so keep him in your thoughts.

June 14 , 2004

I need to get a tablet, I hate using a mouse in Photoshop, hopefully I can get a new one @ PSW.speaking of which, I should be able to register next payday for it, I have most of what I need, but I had to pay off Home Depot so I didn't have to pay interest. The one year interest free credit was up on the 19th and I didn't want to pay $115 in interst! I also paid all my bills to catch up so now I am up to date with everyone and I hope to pay off another CC next month. that leaves me with only two, and I think by the end of summer I will be CC bill free. Then we can tackle Rachel's bills.

Apple released new G5s today, would love to get a dual 2.5 liquid cooled model. Of course it leaves one to wonder what Steve is gonna announce @ WWDC? It would seem that they blew their wad early with the new G5s, Airport Express and iTunes 4.6 they announced this week. Does Steve have something up his sleeve? With the release of Airport Express, I would personally love to see him release a wireless iPod! Think of it, transfer songs to your iPod without connecting it, play music from the iPod on your computer or home stereo (or @ a friends home). Only reason you would need to connect is to recharge. Come on Steve, If I thought of it, you surely have too! Also, make a small wireless adapter for current iPods so I don't have to get a new one yet!

I have been making some desktops, some may not be child friendly, but then again, my site isn't child friendly. I am going to try to make at least a desktop a week or more, doing good this week, three already. I want to keep the creative juices flowing so to speak, I haven't been artistic in a while and I want to be. I want to do some photography, but as I do most of my work outside and the temperature is over 90 degrees, it is mostly out of the question. I hate Florida.

I plan on going to Photoshop World, Hopefully either this paycheck or next I'll be able to register, Rachel is going also, but I expect to register first and then she can register later on, thankfully it is being held in O-Town this year, I so missed not being able to go last year.

We were in Daytona yesterday so that Rachel could compete in a singing contest, I think she did great, they should call her back for the second round sometime this week. She also seems to have hurt her toe...maybe I shouldn't have hit it with that sledgehammer? oh well... live and learn!

Ronald Reagan died yesterday, America lost the greatest president of recent times, in reality, we lost him years ago to a horrible illness.

June 4 , 2004

Rachel was out weeding her sunflowers when I noticed she seemed to be trying to catch something in the grass, I caught a brief look at a snake that was in the grass. she picked it up worried that it was poisonous. I told her it looked like a garter snake and harmless, just about then I got a good look at the 'snake' and realized what it was. It was a glass snake. We had a few weeks ago been talking about glass snakes, I had been telling her that I hadn't seen one in years, she had never seen one and didn't know that a glass snake was not a snake but a lizard. so now she had caught a glass snake in our backyard.

I hadn't seen a glass snake since back when I was in school, the last one was one I caught on Chickasaw Trail, the dirt road part where the man-eating chicken lived (if you lived here as a kid, you would know exactly where I mean!). Of course the road is now paved and has been extended and all the woods are gone.

We took pictures of the glass snake, I may post some, I'm sure Rachel will post them too.

Happy Memorial Day everyone, It also happens to be my 'not an anniversary' day!

Today we have plans to do some grilling outside, not that it's unusual, I love grilling out and we do it as often as possible, I've been out there in near hurricanes grilling before. We also have a very alcoholic watermelon that's been hitting the sauce quite heavily overnight. Rachel plans on mowing sometime today too, the back yard is getting kinda high.

We took little Rachel fishing on Saturday, I had bought her a fishing pole on Friday and she was excited about going fishing. We got there early (7ish) and it was already crowded, but the good news is the opened up our old fishing spot across from where we were, we didn't go there cause we could see it was already crowded, but it is good to know for next time. They still have the beach further down fenced off and the cops were by every little while checking and they made a group that wandered into that area move.

I was teaching Rachel to cast the pole and it felt wierd, after inspecting the pole, I noticed a small crack in the reel, didn't seem like that big a deal, i figured we could return it later. She was doing pretty good for her first time and her casts were not bad. We had only been there 15 or 20 minutes when she said she had something and started reeling in. I was watching and saw she was having a hard time so I went over to help. She hadn't cast very far, so I thought she might be hung up on the rocks, but when I got there I realized that the reel had broken more and she wasn't able to reel anymore. She handed me the reel and I started to reel as best I could but with the reel and whatever she had on the line, (it felt very heavy) it wasn't doing much good. Finally the reel just broke and I grabbed just the line and started pulling. We all looked over the side in time to see an extremely large fish break the surface then dive back underwater. I started pulling on the line again, but it was too late, he had thrown the hook. We didn't get a good enough look at it but it was big, at least two and a half feet, and I think that was just the back half. It was a shiny silver color, very pretty. damn cheap fishing pole. Well at least she has a great story to tell, and she had lots of fun and managed to catch other smaller fish (with my fishing pole) and she now wants me to take her marlin fishing (I told her I would when she is older!) all in all, a fun time was had by all.

I hope to go fishing this weekend with my daughter, i haven't taken her fishing before so it should be fun, she has been asking me to take her.

OK, a rant on AI... AI is a show that claims to want to find the next American Music Idol. so why do they have the contestants sing songs that are not popular anymore? Most people think that Fantasia sings the best and I can agree with that, the problem is that they say they what the best singer, but most current american music idols can't sing, Brittney can't and she is the biggest idol right now (I think, I don't really listen to that crap). Fantasia can sing, but what she is best at singing (gospel, insprational?) is not going to make her an American Idol. Last years winner won because people liked him, but he is hardly heard from anymore and the second place winner is more popular. I think if Fantasia wins, that will be the same case and she'll disappear in a year or two, only heard by the people that like her style of music. I'm glad that tonight it will be over, I don't really like the show, I'm just forced to watch it. The reason I even blogged about it is that someone said that if Fantasia doesn't win, it will be because she is black, and it would be because of racism. Nevermind that last years winner was black. If she loses, I think it will be more because she is ugly, how many popular female singers can you name that are ugly?

I removed the porno logo from the main page since it could be considered offensive to some, and since some may be here just to view wedding photographs. If you are easily offended, you may want to avoid reading much further down. You can still see the logo by clicking on the link below.

May 23 , 2004

The B/W photographs for J'Lynn & Randal's wedding are HERE. Links have been fixed, Number 3 is fixed.

We went out to see my new neice, we took the computer along to show Linda & Tony pictures we had posted on the internet. On the way I decided to do some wardriving (Google it if you don't know what that is) just to see what was out there. On the way we ran across several dozen networks, at least 90% of them had NO password. I am kinda curious on that CIA network I ran across when we drove by some offices by the airport! That one was protected

May 19 , 2004

Maybe I should make a porno movie? Click here to see the LOGO... Caution contains offensive material

Of course I'll have to wait til Emma Watson turns 18 to get her to sign up or I could get Lindsey Lohan to play Hermione, she did a great job on SNL a few weeks ago!

I've been considering doing some wedding photography on the side, I was asked by the photographer that developes my film if I was interested in it and he offered to split the cost of a monthly wedding list with me. I would make up the investment with one wedding, but it is sometimes a pain in the ass and a lot of work and stress, but if I only do a few a year it might not be so bad. I think I would have to get a new website to post photos, I don't think I could use this one, it might offend some customers!

How mad would people be if DaVinci came back to life and decided that he didn't like Mona Lisa's smile and changed it? or if Michelangelo decided to reshape David? or Munch wanted the Scream to be different? There would be outrage, they wouldn't and shouldn't be allowed to change them.

This is an outrage! Lucas should be ashamed. does he realize Luke will be looking at his father who is now younger then he is? Why is yoda and ObiWan not young? What a stupid PRICK!

HAN SHOOTS FIRST!

May 17 , 2004

We were in Atlanta over the weekend to attend a wedding, I was the photographer and Rachel was the bridesmaid/Maid of honor. She also sang at the wedding. We took the iPod and the iBook and it was a good thing, they kind of saved the day. The song Rachel was going to sing was to long and had to be edited, we had to use the iBook to do the editing with Peak LE, I have the full version on my main machine at home, but we had to download and install the trial version on the iBook. Rachel was able to use the iPod to practice singing it. We could have done a better job with more time but all in all it came out good.

CSI - I watched CSI last night (no I didn't watch the Friends finale). CSI is a high rated show I guess, but I just can't get into it. I have seen two or three episodes of the regular series and about the same of the Miami version so I'm really not an expert. I think that because it tries to be realistic that I don't like it, not that I don't like realistic shows, it's that CSI isn't realistic, it just tries to be, and the unrealistic things that it shows throws me out of the story. like on last nights show, a roller coaster derails and six people die. What is wrong with that? Well hours later the bodies are still where they fell to their deaths, they are not even covered, the police tape is around the area, but anyone at the tape would see them laying there and in this day of helicopters, the news would be all over the place. Not only that... but the bodies are undisturbed, they didn't even try to give them medical attention! That just doesn't even come close to being realistic and that is how the show begins, by slapping me in the face to get me totally out,it should be trying to draw you into the story. In another episode, they are refused a search warrant to some guys apartment, they are in their office talking and another investigator comes and and gives them some tidbit of information and with a 'let's go get that search warrant' they go and search the apartment. The problem is that nothing had changed that would have changed the judges ruling against the warrant. Now the biggest problem with CSI. CSI is a unit of the police, but all they do is collect and analyze the information from the crime scene. I could be wrong, but I don't think they question or interrogate suspects, that job would be for the homicide detectives, they may get the file to compare the information and may sit in, but they are not the lead detectives. In CSI they do everything, the homicide detectives job, the prosecutors job and the DAs job. All the episodes I have seen, the suspect is questioned and they confess to the crime to the CSI detective. It is as bad, if not worse then the courtroom dramas that have the guilty party breaking down and confessing under the defense attorneys or prosecuting attorneys cross examination. It is just not realistic to have them confess, I'm sure it happens sometimes, but most likely it hardly ever happens.

In case you are wondering, yes things like that happen in all shows, sometimes you have to do something unrealistic to help the story, make it exciting, move the story along and just as a mistake in editing. I don't mind that and can overlook it. But when the show has as many as CSI does in just one episode, it just bugs the hell out of me and I can't get into it. The Miami version is just as bad and is made worse by the fact that David Carruso is the star!

On another note: The entire staff of TechTV was given their walking papers. Don't know what the future of the network will be. Bummer.

Looks like that prick Michael Moore is at it again, first he fakes a documentary, now he creates a publicity stunt by claiming censorship against Disney to promote his movie coming out. Guess he needs to sucker people to go see his fakumentaries. He must figure they'll go see it in protest against the so called 'censorship'. I'm against censorship, but I won't see his movie.

Demented is dead. I've given up on the movie idea.

I forgot to bring my cokes to work this morning, man am I thirsty, this really sucks.

So I'm driving down the street in my neighborhood this morning on the way to work and this moron in a van is coming right at me...on my side of the street! So what is moron doing... looking off to the side at who knows what, there wasn't a girl or anything there to look at, I could at least understand that. So i slam on my brakes and I guess the screeching tires made him look where he was going and swerve around me, he missed hitting my car by inches. hell if he hadn't of swerved when he did, even if I hadn't been there, he would have hit the curb on the left side of the street. I hate people.

I think I was right about the new Iron Chef, Wolfgang Puck defeated Marimoto. the only Japanese chef that won was when teamed up with an American chef. the format is great, thejust need to get more open-minded judges. The worst judge was the prick from Vogue magazine, he apparently write a food column for them, sure you think of gourmet food you think vogue? His articles are probrably the least read in the magazine. He tries to pass himself off as an expert but looked more like an asshole, Paige Davis from Trading Spaces sounded more intellegent then he did.

April 25 , 2004

Iron Chef America is on, it's a new version of Iron Chef that has been redone since the original ended a few years ago before it became popular in America. They tried to do one before with William Shatner as the chairman but that was really lame and stupid and nothing like the original, it didn't last very long. The new version is much like the original and I think I would like it except... Well here is the thing, I'm not sure that I will like it as much as the original, yes it is very much like it, the ingedients so far have been good and (surprisingly) alive. The commentators are great and the focus is more on the food and not the chefs (no rock&roll chef bs). So what is the problem? Americans... What do I mean? well the judges are American and I think they have hamburger taste buds. I'll try almost anything, but most Americans I know would never try something different or unusual. I have seen to episodes and so far I have been proven right, both battles were won by the American chef (Bobby Flay and Mario Batali). Looking at the dishes in the Flay/Sakai battle, I think I would have prefered Sakai, and he definately should have won in plateing, they were much better then Flays. I'll see tonight how the battles go, but I think they will favor the Americans.

April 23 , 2004

I'm not a big sports fan, truth be told most people wold think I hate them. That's not really true, I like going to watch them sometime and I sometimes watch them on TV. The thing that I Hate about sports is the way some people think it's the be all, end all. How they put the players up as if they were Gods. I'm sure this Blog would piss off the big sports fan out there, probrably as much as I piss off the bible thumpers. The stupidest sticker I can see on a car is a 'in memory of Dale Earhart'. What the fuck? What kind of a moron puts a tribute to a man who's only contribution to mankind was driving in a circle! It's fun to watch the races or watch the game and sure I feel bad that he died, but give me a fucking break, He died making millions of dollars doing a job that almost anyone would do for free and for fun. Players are not heroes, they are far from it, they are rich, spoiled and arrogant and I don't feel sorry for them when they get themselves into trouble.

Pat Tillman died in Afghanistan yesterday... a week ago I would have said Pat who? He was a football player in the NFL and he left the game to go fight for his country, he turned down millions and a job playing football for what he believed in, that is something that I doubt most 'sports heroes' would do. He didn't even want the publicity that came with what he did. So rip those stupid 'in memory of' stickers off your cars and put an 'in memory of Pat Tillman' (or other vet killed in action) sticker on, then you would be honoring real heroes and not sports zeroes.

To all the veterans out there who are fighting or have fought for our country (including bobble head John Kerry even tho' he turned yellow) I thank you for the freedom we all have.

To my cousin Peter who is going to Afghanistan... Be safe

I'm not a mean person, maybe I should be. I got rear-ended last week, I was stopped to turn into where I work and some guy hit me and did $2080 damage to my car (Rachel's car actually). A few days later I get a call from a victims advocate group asking if I knew my rights, if I had gone to a doctor or if I needed a lawyer. I can't be sure, but I think it is probrably a group funded by lawyers, they seemed to try to lead me to get one. Then yesterday I got another call, This time the guy didn't say who he was with, and he seemed detemined to try to get me to go see a lawyer and then a doctor, he said that as hard as I was hit I should be injured, he was put off that I said no. Am I wrong not to want to sue some poor guy who made an error? who just may have gotten distracted for a second? I don't feel bad and his insurance is handling the damage to the car, that is all I want. If I had been hurt, then I would have tried to get the medical and maybe some pain and suffering, but I doubt that i would have asked for much. I wonder what would have happened if things were the other way around, I would probrably be getting sued, even if at first he didn't want to, after two calls he might have changed his mind, and who knows if that is the last I've heard from them! I hate lawyers, at least the ambulance chasing, personal injury ones. What a horrible way to make a living.

April 12 , 2004

I'm back.. at least for now, seems I have been having troubles with Dreamweaver MX 2004. I have not been able to Blog from home, at first it just wouldn't access the web site, I had too save the file locally then upload it with fetch. then it just stopped running, it would just keep asking for my admin password, which it never had before and even when i gave it it would continuously ask for it and never run. The last few posts were done from work. I finally had to reinstall it to get it working, don't know how long it will be till it doesn't work again. I hate DW, at least v7, version 6.1 was good.

I have the week off.. I don't really have anything to do and no money to do anything anyway. I had hoped to work on my movie, but with no money, things are kinda on hold right now. I am basically on my own here working on it so things have slowed to a crawl. I did look into permits and stuff to film in Orlando and ordered a info book from the Orlando Film Commission, good thing it was free.

Linda brought me a job listing from the city, I have to apply to it, it sounds great. I doubt that I will get it, I really don't have the experience for it but then again, I'm not really looking for a job. The job is forensic photographer.. is that cool, I would take pictures of dead people and crime scenes. Most people would balk at that, but I don't think I would have problems with it, what would bother me the most is children. I wonder if they would let me wear a T-shirt that says 'I see dead people'?

'then one day you find, ten years have gone behind, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun' - Pink Floyd

So I was stopped about a block from work, this lady was turning into the dry cleaners down the street and had slowed almost to a stop. once she turned, I accelerated towards work, From there to work is less then a block so I didn't even get up to speed before I turned on my blinker and slowed to turn left into the parking lot. I was lamenting the fact that because the lady turning I had to stop because a truck was coming and there was more traffic behind it, i could have turned in front of it if I had gotten there a few seconds before. as the truck passed I glanced into the rearview mirror in time to see the chevy cavalier plow into the back of the car. It seems the car was lifted up and thrown forward. when the dust settled, I glanced around the car to see that everything has been thrown around. I got out of the car, I was in the middle of the street and we were blocking traffic, but a wasn't about to move and let the asshole take off. I screamed a few obscenities at the driver of the chevy and then noticed the condition of his car, he wasn't going anywhere, at least not very far, and traffic was backing up. I got back into my car and was planning on pulling into work until I noticed that the collision had pushed me passed the entrance. So I drove up a little and turned onto the next street. the chevy pulled in front of me and parked. I got out and see my co-workers running over to see if I was OK. I called the police and then Rachel to tell her I had wrecked her car, yes I was driving the Honda at Rachel's suggestion.

The car doesn't look to bad, but the damage is hard to determine because the chevy went under the rear of the car. The muffler was pushed forward and it penetrated the chevy's radiator, the exhaust system was all pushed forward and is loose, I also had to put a coat hanger to hold the muffler up, the spare tire was hit and may be damaged, it is in a cover and I haven't removed it to check. The glass tailgate door is off and the lower tailgate door seems off to. The rear bumper was damaged and it looks like the deck of the rear is bent, the table that is stored under there doesn't fit right anymore and sticks out a little.

The guy in the chevy says that I slammed on my brakes and that is why he hit me, not that it really matters, as the cop said, it's his fault and he got a ticket for following to closely. But his trying to blame me just ticks me off, first off, I have been going to work here for almost 7 years, I know where it's at, why would I slam on my brakes? Then the fact that I was stopped less then a block away cause of the lady turning into the dry cleaners, I really hadn't gotten up to the legal speed limit yet (most people on virginia go much faster then the limit). and on a last note, as my boss said, it doesn't matter if I did slam on my brakes, sometimes you have to, he is still totally at fault.

'Soy un perdedor, I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me?' - Beck

Seems my luck never changes and I tend to drag others down with me. Most people think I'm a loser and I agree with that assessment.

March 31, 2004

When it rains, it pours. Looks like things at Demented have run aground, with two members opting out of the project. Bill says he'll still help out but Kevin has found God after seeing the Passion and is out for now. So as things stand, I will be the lead completely and Rachel and Duane helping out. We need to have a meeting to discuss our options, maybe this weekend sometime. Oh well, it was a nice dream.

I had passes to see Hellboy last night. It's a good movie, I have never read the comic so I can't really compare it to that, but it was a fun movie.

Check out the new Batmobile from Batman Begins (didn't post pictures directly, go to the link) Looks cool!!!!

March 29, 2004

Well Connie left this morning, I think she had fun while she was here. We went to Seaworld on Friday and had a great time. then Saturday we went fishing in the morning, Rachel and Connie caught lots of fish and I think they both had a good time, I caught a couple, but I didn't want to show them up by catching all the fish! Later we went and looked at homes. I made the fish for dinner and they were tasty.

yesterday I was gonna go to Hooters with my brother, he had to get out for the baby shower, but Dan and the kids showed up and I stayed home waiting for everyone to get home. I made the chicken that ma likes so much. I don't think it turned out as good as it sometimes is, but I made more then I usually do and that may have affected the outcome.

If you like books, especially audio books, you need to check out Audible.com. Looks like a great site to get books. If you get anything there, say I sent you, I'll get free books that way

March 25, 2004

It seems I don't have to do anything to provoke tirades from others. I don't read other blogs and don't plan on reading this particular one, so I'm hearing this second hand. Guess since I don;t make lots of money I'm not as good as some people. If it makes you feel better to look down your nose at others then go ahead, you have most of the middle class and hell even my cousin who is a lawyer and his working wife (also a lawyer). Keep the bitches at home and under your thumb where they belong right? That makes you a man.

I'm off tomorrow, We are hopefully going to Seaworld with my cousin Connie.

I have something I have been wanting to write for a while but haven't been able to, I think I may start it soon, it's not an easy thing to write about so it will take some time.

March 22, 2004

We went to the Winter Park Art Festival this weekend, it was a great time and we saw lots of great artwork. Good thing it isn't being held in Colorado, it may soon become illegal.

Ahh yes, the Christians are at it again, let the book burnings begin.

March 19, 2004

Thank God it's Friday. I hope to go see Dawn of the Dead tonight. I also want to see Eternal Sunshine and Taking Lives, wish they didn't all come out the same day.

March 17, 2004

Happy St. Patrick's day.

March 16, 2004

I've made a few changes to the site, I added some desktops and I am working on the photography page.

If any of you shop at BJ's, they are the ones whose personal information was compromised, rachel had to get a new bankcard because of it. I'm not sure why I didn't get a new one, I guess I didn't use my card there.

Just when things are looking up you get knocked down again.

March 10, 2004

I feel so tired, It feels like I am coming down with something, but I haven't yet. It's been this way for a week already, it's really pissing me off.

Rachel seems to like her new job, unfortunately she doesn't have AIM and can't post on her blog anymore. It is good that we can carpool. Her new job is less then two miles away from mine. we're not sure yet if it is better for me to have the car or for her too have it. I can get a spot in the morning here easily, but if I leave during lunch then I lose any hope of parking in the lot and have to park far. Her job has a parking garage and she may have to leave the office sometimes so she will most likely have the car. I hate that we can't chat anymore during the day, I could just look at my buddy list and see her and know I could talk to her if I wanted too. Oh well, at least she calls me when she is at lunch. If my knee would stop hurting, I could ride my bike over at lunchtime.

YAY!!! I'm going to Photoshop World again. It's going to be in Orlando this year and there's no way I'm missing it again. I couldn't go last year cause they held it in Miami and I didn't want to go that far, actually, it was the Miami part that stopped me, I would have gone almost anywhere in the southeast, hell even the northeast. But this is better, don't have to get a hotelroom or anything. I wanted to go to Photoshop West, but it was in San Fran and we really didn't have the money (I would have gone to SF). YAY!!!!!

March 7, 2004

Happy Birthday Tony & Rachel

See Tony did used to have hair and he used to be kinda cute. Wonder what happened there?

Rachel is as cute as ever, that's a picture from when we first started dating! Yea she was a little old for me.

March 5, 2004

We bought an iBook G4 on Wednesday, it's really cute and as powerful as my main system.

Rachel is under the mistaken impression that it is hers. We got the Airport wireless card with it, they wanted $30 to install it. It took me all of 5 minutes to do it myself. I was going to get the memory upgraded too, but they charge a lot more at the Apple retail store then they do online so I will order the memory and save some money. When we got home, I installed the wireless card and tried to connect to the internet. I had no success that night. I have never had any difficulty when networking Macs so I was surprised. Before any PC people out there start to chuckle at my problems, a little background. I have a Linksys router and Rachel's Gateway laptop has a wireless card. When I got them it took us several days and various attempts to get the laptop working with the wireless card and on the internet. I figured one of the settings we changed on the router was the problem. So yesterday after trying different settings on the iBook, I finally decided to reset the router to factory settings. That fixed it right away and I was online instantly.

'I believe, that women should be put on a pedestal.. high enough, so you can look up her dress' - Steve Martin

I believe someone's religious beliefs don't matter. It doesn't make them a good person or a bad person.

Sorry Jason, I'm sure that wasn't the answer you were looking for.

'Oh No, not again!' - Potted Petunia, HGTG

Disclaimer: This is about an article in the National Liberty Journal and not directed, or an attack on anyone... Well maybe that piece of shit Jerry Falwell!

We got the latest NLJ on Saturday, I usually just skim the articles but they had one I was interested in, mostly because it talked about the Council of Nicaea and the book The Da Vinci Code. Actually, they have several articles on The Da Vinci Code, It seems to have really riled them up! the part that amused me in the one article I read - 'The book implies that the Council of Nicaea voted on the deity of Christ, which narrowly passed' This would make you believe that the book is wrong or that they don't believe the book is correct, but then it goes on to say 'in reallity the vote was 300-2, hardly a close vote' Hmm, here they make a complete turnaround and admit that it was true! Well either way, the book lied about it being a close vote right? What the article doesn't mention is that the vote was coerced, they met for days(weeks? I forget how long) arguing the case, only two of the council stuck to their original vote and afterward they were accused of heresy and excommunicated, which is why the vote was what it was! In the article the author also says something to the effect that believing that Jesus is not a deity is 'blasphemously dangerous'. Those damn blasphemous Jews, Muslums, etc.

On another note The Passion starts tomorrow. 'Shame on him' that is what Jane Kaczmarek (mom on Malcolm in the Middle) said on ET last night about it, she hasn't seen it yet and admitted as much. Another actor (forget who) said 'hopefully it incites meaningful dialog between people with different beliefs'. That's really funny, as if that will ever happen, just a look at what happens on this site proves that wrong. and reading the article in the NLJ shows the same intolerence for other beliefs.

February 23, 2004

I was gonna blog about an article I read in the Liberty University Newspaper, but I forgot to bring it in so I'll wait on that.

We went house shopping yesterday, we mostly had bad luck, most of the places we went had no models available. We did find a home we might be able to afford, though I think Rachel liked them more then I did. The house I liked was an older house, it was built in 1910 and was really nice. It had been completely remodeled and looked like a new home on the inside. It had a large detached garage that would make a great studio. It really wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, unfortunately it is probrably out of our price range and I don't think Rachel liked it. I do think that of the two, it was the better investment and it's price will increase much faster then the other house. It is a block from the small downtown district that has been renovated and the west orange trail is right there too. Well as they say, you need money to make money. So I guess I'll never have money!

Happy Birthday Mom

It's my moms birthday, Rachel and I offered to buy her a ticket to Colombia so she can see her family, unfortunately she doesn't want to go alone. Well hopefully she finds someone to go with her, I really think she wants to go.

I had an interesting chat about Wal-mart and censorship, it was pointed out that Sam Walton wasn't really Christian so that I shouldn't call Wal-mart a Christian Family Store. I don't think I really did, I was drawing upon a quote from an article where they defended thier policy as Christian values. Also, they won't carry an album by Alanis Morrisette (sp) because a song on it has a line about Wal-mart selling guns to kids. That has nothing to do with values, Christian or others. Walmart is free to sell what they want, but they refuse to sell CDs with stickers that say they mat have offensive lyrics, so if those are to be sold at Wal-mart they have to edit them. And it's not just the music, they make them change artwork that they consider offensive. Putting stickers on CDs would help parents regulate what their children listen to, which is why they claim they have that policy. So I think it's more about forcing their opinion onto the unsuspecting public. Even though I've been told that it is common knownledge (I known several people who didn't know, or didn't know to what extent) and if you want the regular CD you can go to another music store, that is only true if there is another music store in town and if Walmart hasn't driven it out of business. Another place to get music is the internet, but that requires a computer, a credit card (most places), and trusting the internet, not everyone has all three.

Censorship is all around us, you can't go into a crowded room and yell 'fire', that is a form of censorship. But you have to remember that people could get hurt by your expression of free speech. So it does have limits. Racist speeches, inciting a roit and things that could hurt others are censored. Broadcast radio and television are censored, you hear bleeps on Springer don't you? But that is different then censoring a CD, Why? Because a CD you can listen to first and decide if you're children can hear it, it would be hard to censor the radio/tv on the fly for your children. How many people watching the superbowl were able to censor out Janet for their children? Instant Messenger censors you, if you type to fast (I've been told, I wouldn't know) or if you type too much. But in this case it's probably a technical issue not really censorship. You can type fuck as many times as you like, as long as whoever you are typing it to doesn't object, then they could censor you by blocking you.

I used to shop at Wal-mart, but I never got CDs there. But I am boycotting them not because of their music policies, that is just one of the reasons.

February 18, 2004

It's funny how some people don't mind being told what they can and can't read, write, or listen to. The Wal-mart Boycott draws the old, 'I don't mind if they won't sell smut or crap music. It saves me from having to watch what my children are doing' rant. Since when is Wal-mart supposed to decide what your children can see, hear, or believe? I thought that was a parents job? The problem is that most people think censorship is fine, until they start censoring something they disagree with. It's fine to be outside a library burning books and magazines, just don't try taking out that copy of the ten commandments. Sure Wal-mart has the right to sell just want it wants to, but it should also let customers know, Sanitized for your protection - Big Brother is watching. How about if they decided to regulate what people wear? Bikinis show to much so they are out, tight clothing is out, red is out. They will just sell granny panties, jeans for women are a no-no. Would the public put up with that?

That isn't even the biggest reason Wal-mart is on my shit list. Their tactics at driving other stores under at any cost is the worst. They will sell items below cost and lose money until the other stores go under. They can afford to do it, smaller stores can't. They will even open several stores in the same area just to drive the little guy out and then close some of the stores, leaving behind just empty husks of concrete.

So Wal-mart fucks the little guy... yes, just the values of a good christian family store.

Still feel like shit today, but managed to drag myself to work. I have set up to sell on Ebay, we have some items to sell and have put off doing it. Hopefully the items go for a good price.

I spent hours yesterday scanning old photographs into the computer, it was hard, they were old and the colors were horrible, I had to scan them and then go adjust the colors to look as good as possible. I didn't restore them, that would have taken to much time, so for now at least the colors are ok. I plan on burning a DVD with the scans when I'm done, it may take several DVDs to fit them on, I still have hundreds to go, I only did about 100 yesterday, mostly the older photos in the worst condition. I wanted to find some photos of my mom and dad together but the ones with both weren't that good. will have to keep looking.

Have to stop by Colonial Photo and get some film tonight, I have a photo shoot tomorrow. I'm not really looking forward to it but we can use the money.

I hate wal-mart. I don't ever go there any more, I prefer to pay more then let them drive other stores out of business. The fact that they want to decide what you should listen to and watch is just the tip of the iceburg. KB Toys and FAO went under because of the way Wal-mart sells it's toys for less then they paid for them just to get people to come in and to drive other stores under. So I am boycotting them too.

Home sick today... Feel like crap. Yesterday Rachel and I went looking at cars, it's not really what we started out to do, just what we ended up doing. We had talked about trading in her car later this year, not that we don't like it, but it has 50k on it already and is out of warranty. I figure trading it in before it starts being a headache would be nice. So on the way shopping we decided to look at cars, not that we are buying right away, we just wanted to see what was out there. First stop was Volkswagen to see the Touareg. It looked really nice and well built, but we didn't test drive it, it was way out of our price range like I figured it would be. Next we decided to go to the new Jeep dealer, it's huge and looks like the have lots of cars. We were interested in the Liberty. We didn't really want to deal with a salesman yet so we just went to where the liberty's were parked. Out of all the Libertys they had, they only had 2 that were manual, neither one the right color. I really liked the look of the renegade edition of the liberty, and I liked the cactus green color. We decided we would get a brochure inside and if a salesmen bothered us then we would take a test drive. We walked around inside for a while without anyone even looking our way so we left without a test drive. Honda was next on our list, we don't really like the new CR-V but we figured we would check it out. This time we did not escape the salesman as he was right there when we got out of our car. So after a search we found a manual and went for a test drive. It was great, I think the improvements they have made to the CR-V are really good, at least on the inside, We still didn't like the outside. Across from the CR-Vs they had the Element. We went over to look, I wasn't that interested, It's cute, but I didn't think it was what we were in the market for. It looks like a box, kinda like a SUV/VW bus. The salesman got the keys and opened it up, WOW it was really cool, the floor is rubber and the seats are waterproof, everything inside is easy to clean, it has lots of room in front and in back the rear seat can fold down and fold up and can be removed, and it drove great and had power. I was very impressed with it and it shot up to the top of our list. It comes with 4 wheel drive, has a moonroof, comes in a green we liked (also Orange as a second choice) and they had a lot of Manual trannies in stock. Next we hit the Carmax Jeep Dealer (they sell New Jeep/Chrysler at good prices) to drive the Liberty, unfortunately the salesman could tell he was striking out. They had no manuals, no green, and no four wheel drives in the renegade version (they did have a silver renegade 4x4, but it looked like they were in the process of selling it). So we took an automatic for a drive, Rachel hated it, I liked the way it drove and love the look, but the Element drove better.

So in the end, it seems like the Element won us over. Rachel loves it and so do I, I was surprised, though I like the look of the Jeep Liberty Renegade Edition, The Element was more versatile and was fun to drive. So we now know that we want a Green (or Orange) Honda Element with four wheel drive, a moonroof with a manual trans.

'We're not gonna take it, anymore'

The fight continues. I hate not being able to buy CDs. I admit that I have gotten music from the iTunes music store but not as much as I would have otherwise.

On another note: don't pity me, I neither want nor need it.

So we're behind a Lynx bus on the way home and it has a sign on the back that says '93% of Lynx users take the bus to work, school, shopping and entertainment'! What I want to know is what the hell the other 7% take the bus for?

'That's really unrelevant!' - overheard teenager on cell phone

On the Tonight Show they have a segment they sometimes do called 'jaywalking'. They ask people on the street questions (current events, history, etc.) and their responses are supposed to be humorous. I find it sad that americans are so ignorant and downright dumb. I don't claim to be the brightest bulb on the lamp, but some of the people on there are pitiful. As the quote above shows, the educational system in the US is in sorry shape. Why? I put the blame squarely on the liberals!

Nowadays, kids can't fail, they can't be left back, that would damage their self esteem. Hell, even the disruptive children can't be removed from the classrooms even if the other students can't learn because of them. Schools will fire teachers before removing a disruptive child. Punishment is non-existent, a spanking is considered child abuse. At some schools, games (football, soccer, etc..) are not scored because it would harm the kids that lose. Sorry to tell you, when they grow up, in the real world there are losers. The kids think that they can get away with anything, they only do as much as they have to, they really don't have to push themselves to do better.

When a criminal that has been arrested 13 times is out on the streets on probation, something is wrong. Liberals like to get on their soapbox and claim they are protecting personal rights, but give me a break. Personal rights can only go so far, If they endanger or hurt others, then that is wrong. If I shoot a burglar in my home, I could go to jail and he could sue me.. why? because I infringed on HIS RIGHTS? If he is in my home, he should lose his rights, he is breaking the law and infringing on my rights.

Liberals are complaining that the security at the airport is too much, that it is infringing on personal freedoms. Airlines are providing a service. If you can sue them for a terrorist attack, then they should be allowed to implement any security they want to prevent it. Since when is air travel a right? I think that if the airlines want you to strip naked they should be allowed to have that requirement. If you don't want to strip, then you don't have to fly, If they had tried to increase security before 9/11, the liberals would have freaked.

Before you start thinking that I am some hard core conservative, think again. I consider myself open-minded. I support free speech, the arts, the environment and am pro-choice. I am an Artist and a free thinker, but I am not stupid enough to agree with liberals. I don't think the government should have any say in what I write or draw or think unless it infringes on someone else's rights. Besides, I don't think they let the antireligious in the hard-core conservative fold.

It was a rather expensive weekend, but we got a lot of deals so we got a lot for the money. On the good side, I got the check in the mail I was expecting, but before you start hitting me up for cash, It's not really my money, just a sort of swapping of the bills. It should help with the finances and get a credit card out of the way. In the debit column it will look better.

It's God's will.

Eleven year old Carlie Brucia's body was found behind a church. While details haven't been released, one imagines she was brutally raped and murdered. Her last moments of life filled with fear and pain. hopefully she believed in God and is in a better place...Otherwise the little brat deserved what she got and will burn in hell where she belongs! I'm sure her murderer will find God in jail and will go to heaven as he deserves.

Disclaimer: sarcasm doesn't transfer well to writing, those who know me will recognize the sarcasm in the post above, This post is not in response to any blog, I have not read anyones blog on this matter except Rachel's. This post is aimed only at the big guy. I held back a day, if I had posted yesterday, it would have been far more offensive.

Funny how my disclaimers are almost as long as the posts.

Fried Wontons, yummy. That is what I am planning on making for dinner tonight. I'm really hungry. I seem to be into an asian mode in regards to food (turning japenese?). We have been eating lots of sushi (yummy) and cooking chinese and asian the last few weeks. Strangely, Rachel likes sushi, when we first meet, she didn't like much and was finicky. She at least was willing to try new things and I have gotten her to try lots of things. I on the other hand, have tried and will try almost anything. I love food, hard to believe seeing as I am so thin. I like going into grocery stores and looking and buying things I have never tried before. Maybe I'll go to the asian grocery store this weekend and get some stuff, maybe a black chicken!

Well everyone else is blogging so I guess I will.

I feel like shit, this morning I didn't want to get out of bed and I was cold last night and this morning. I rarely get cold, I must be coming down with something.

Last Wednesday we shot some video as a test. I think some was good but I didn't get the footage I wanted. we need some more equipment to get the right feel I'm looking for. May try again tomorrow, but I don't have money to get supplies.

I'm planning on picking up some DVDs this weekend. We want to get some horror movies as Rachel hasn't seen as many as I have. I hope to get Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy vs Jason, and maybe Friday the 13th, and some other b-movies. We can have a horrorfest.

The Super Bowl yesterday was disappointing, pretty boring really. Good thing the football game between the commercials was interesting. And Janet Jackson's Boob on national TV! Sure, We believe it was an accident.

January 27, 2004

I haven't been blogging much, I think I just sometimes don't have much to say.

I have an idea I want too try, I think I may do some filming to see if it works the way I hope it will, just need to find the time, maybe tomorrow night I will try it.

There is a new book on the space shuttle Columbia that comes out today I want to get, but I have a lot of books that I have to read so I may wait on that...or not.

Right now i am reading a book called Holy Blood Holy Grail. It's interesting, I'm sure I can piss someone off with it, though I am really only reading it because it has alot of information on the Knights Templar and the Prieuré de Sion. I also have another book of the Knights Templar to read after I finish this one, but it is slow going as I have been reading it at work and have been rather busy.

I need to start writing again, I have the rewrite of the screenplay in my head and need to finish it, it is about halfway done at least. I am also getting a little frustrated with the pace that we are moving at on the films, I think I have to start kicking some buts to get things done. I haven't seen any progress with any of our plans. I may just start things off without them, but that is hard to do without money or equipment. Sometimes I think we'll never get anything done.

I have a new cell phone, if you need the number, send me an email. It's really small, we got the Siemans S56. We went to at Waterford, but they were slammed, we checked out the phones and they had the s56 for $129, wow, we had seen it at Best Buy for $50, both places had a $50 rebate. since Best Buy was right there we walked over and got two for less then one @ . With the rebate, they were free. the guy at Best Buy was less then helpful tho'.

So did you hear that the C%*T Hillary made a racist comment about Ghandi? Probrably not, the media wouldn't want to hurt their presidental hopeful. If had been a republican I'm sure the would be beating it into the ground until they got them to resign. And the media claims it is unbias!

'Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, above us only sky' - John Lennon

Once Again, religion leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

I don't understand religion, I have become the target of personal attacks, and my wife has been disowned. What did she do to deserve this? Nothing that I know of, the reason is my web site and the opinions on it. You can tell by the last few posts that I have become upset about the attacks, not the attacks on me, but the attacks on my daughter are the ones that bother me. The opinions on the site have been taken as personal attacks and they are NOT meant to be. You can read everything on the site and see for yourself, the only things that come close are the replies to emails. I read a lot and watch the Discovery and History channels and most of the posts on this site come from that. I think the post that seems to have started this whole thing was a post defending the word God in the Pledge of Allegiance, not sure why. I have posted no personal attacks on my site, even though emails has misquoted some posts. For this I have been called 'intelligent' sarcastically, a 'so called-man', had my love for my daughter questioned and have been sent to hell along with my daughter. First off, what kind of fucked up God would send a seven year old to hell for her fathers beliefs? Secondly, everyone knows where the photos of my daughter and wife are, and the people that know me know how much I love both her and my wife. Thirdly, if you have read my site you would know that my daughter goes to church with her Grandma and I encourage it. Me and my father argued all the time about different things, news, politics and such, yet nothing we argued about ever would have affected our relationship. I wish he was still here to argue with. Maybe that is the reason I don't understand this relationship and how differing opinions would be enough to distance yourself from your own family. I love my wife and she loves me, we don't talk religion. She has the right to have a different opinion then I do, it doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is how upset she is about how her family is treating her. You can hate me for my opinions if you like, but why take it out on her?

On a final note, how and when have I mistreated Rachel? I don't read your website, so I don't know what exactly you mean by that. If you think the soapbox is aimed at you, please tell me why? I have posted three rants in Dec and one was a continuation of a post from April. Which of those was the personal attack? on my the daily blog, I defended God on the 4th and on the 11th and 12th a bit on the origin of Christmas, which was the personal attack? The Yum Kippur joke? As for the Bible code that got you guys worked up, sorry you hadn't heard of it, I got 27000 matches for it on Amazon.com so I am not the only one who has heard of it, I was replying to a program on the History Channel that aired the night before (12/27?). It wasn't even an attack on the Bible, just the Bible code.

January 3, 2004

WARNING: I'm sure to piss someone off this time.

I wish to stress once again that this is MY site, Almost everything on the site is mine, the art work, the photos, and the OPINIONS!!! I have always spoken my mine and I'm not going to quit now. Since I started the site, NO ONE has had any input on what I post. In the soapbox that I started almost a year ago is the disclaimer that states that some may find the posts in there offensive. I don't hold back, I say want I think. Rachel has in no way every had any say in what I post there and never will, just as I don't tell her what to post on her site, she can offer her opinion if she wishes, but I have final say.

The latest Rant I posted is about a web site I got from Fark.com and my personal thoughts and rebuttal to the opinions expressed on that web site, I directed the rant to no one and if they think they are the target of any of my rants then they are sorely mistaken. I have never posted a rant aimed at anyone personally, I have posted remarks aimed at my opinions and have joked about them, which also seems to have been taken as an insult.

Once again a say, These are MY OPINIONS and BELIEFS, I have not attacked others beliefs and have even defended them. Even my post defending God in the pledge offended some, because I said I am an Atheist. Am I the only one that knows this is America? Are we not free to believe what we want? Doesn't freedom of religion also mean freedom of no religion? I take no offence at others religion unless it harms others or causes them to commit terrorist acts.

Everyone in my family knows my beliefs, or lack of, yet I have a close relationship with my mom, brother, sister and when he was alive, my father. I also have family thousands of miles away, and are close to them and they would happily welcome me into there homes regardless of my beliefs. I would do the same for them too if I could, regardless of their beliefs.

January 2, 2004

I hope everyone had a good New Years, I thought I would post a list of some of my resolutions for 2004:in order from least likely

1) Get rich

2) Buy a house - we need a place to live, I hate not having a house

3) Finish my movie - I plan on having the script done by the end of the month and hope to cast it in Feb. and film in March/April. hope to have it totally complete by the end of the summer at the latest.

I read an article on the Religion of Atheism. It goes on to say that it is the most irrational and illogical religion. It states this on the fact that science can not prove that God doesn't exist. I would like to point out a very big error in just the title of that theory.

re·li·gion n.
1a. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
1b. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.

2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order.

3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.

4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.

I don't think Atheism falls into any of those categories. He mentions proof of God, but after reading some of the site, I haven't found any, I plan on looking at all his site and will reply, probably in the soapbox.

One final note, I don't consider myself an atheist, I don't think there is a God, but if there is, I will not worship him. I worship no one.

I have posted a new rant in the soapbox.
