Wordpress is down. I'll have to work on it tomorrow and figure out why!

Some guy has barricaded himself in a house down the street from my work, and I'm here at home! I guess it's a good thing, I would be the one yelling 'shoot the prick, shoot the prick' at the cops. Hey I would shoot him myself if he stopped me from leaving work on time.
Christmas sucks! just thought I would throw that out there!
November 27 , 2005
I'm turning into Clark Griswold, we are in a battle for the Christmas decorating with the nieghbors in front. Yesterday we pulled down the decorations from the attic and started putting them up, later the front nieghbor started decorating and so now after several trips to the stores to get more decorations, our house is the most decorated in the development! Not that I like christmes, but I don't plan to lose. Plus the house looks good too.

So last evening while it was still light out, me and fred took the canoe out to the pond/swamp to try to get Echer. We had a hll of a time getting the canoe into open water, there are a lot of fallen trees and tree stumps near the shore we had to get past. Once in open water it was much easier but you had to keep paddleing or the lily pads would stop the canoes motion. Once we got vlose to echer it turns out he is afraid of the canoe and he swam away from us, he would quack at me so I think he knew me, but the big canoe kept him away. He tried chaseing him towards where we put the canoe in at and he almost got there but then made a sharp turn and went the wrong way. it was dark by then and we had to give up the chase.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I set up Rachel with Wordpress so she'll soon have a spiffy new blog and will be able to blog while away from home. I also set up wordpress on Bakerstreet but I will see if I can implement it into my site.
I posted a review (sort of) of Harry Potter, it's on the new wordpress site for testing.
November 17 , 2005
I got blogrolled by Sarahk, I'm honored, spikey haired one is just fine. I'll have to add her to my blogroll, I'm sure she could use the one hit a month she may get from it!
We bought a new fridge today, we almost got it last week but we were abandoned in the appliance dept. It's a good thing we did, today the fridge we wanted was on sale, we saved $200 plus we'll get a $150 giftcard in the mail. Last week we would only have gotten the giftcard. I hate our current fridge, it's going in the garage.
Sadly Eicher is gone, sort of. He seems to have gotten into the larger lake/wetlands behind us and can't get home. we hear him quack and saw him this morning, but he couldn't make his way to us. Hopefully he finds his way home, at least he didn't meet the same fate Munch did.
Looks like we're going to see Harry Potter tomorrow night (if Rachel feels better), then Saturday we're going to the rathouse (Disney)with FrankJ and Sarahk.

I haven't blogged much this month, mostly because I have been traveling and busy and also because I haven't been feeling 100%.
I got a new iPod and I love it. It's really thin and I like the color screen. I didn't really get it because it plays video though, that is just a bonus, I was planning on buying the last version but waited when I heard they were coming out with a new version. I don't think I would have paid more for the video feature, but since the price remained the same i'm glad I waited. While the video looks good for such a small screen, I couldn't watch a movie or anything very long on it, I did subscribe to the Photoshop TV podcast. Now I have to get Rachel her karaoke machine.
November 10 , 2005
My daughters iPod shuffle needed to be recharged so she left me a note on my computer and a poem along with it - 'I had an iPod named snowball, she died, she died, my mom said she was sleeping she lied, she lied, O why couldn't I have run out of songs, now my iPod is dead'. You can see who is influencing her!
She had told me the poem earlier and had an ending that rhymed, but I forgot how it went and I guess she wrote it differently. BTW, I taught her Lisa's poem. I would scan the poem, but she wrote in yellow ink and it is very difficult to read(scan).

We're back! Home sweet home.
November 4 , 2005
Sadly, one of our ducks disappeared last night. I think that either a fox or a bobcat got him, I would lean toward the fox. Poor Munch.
For some reason, Pereiraville.com and the other sites on the server except for Bakerstreet are not working, unfortunately I am going camping and won't be able to check why until I get back, hopefully it comes back online by itself.
November 3 , 2005
I'm going camping tomorrow, so of course today I wake up sick. I think it's a cold. hopefully it goes away.
Last night I finally saw Mirrormask, I thought it was good, it certainly was strange but about what you would expect from Neil Giaman. I thought the artwork and the camera work was exceptional.
Our Orlando Sentinel subscription has expired, so when they called yesterday I figured it was to get us to renew. We only subscribe to the Sunday paper, it has the ads and coupons in it. The caller told me that since we were Sunday only subscribers, they were upgrading us to 7 days a week at no charge. Today we got the paper! I have heard that newspapers are in such bad shape that they try anything to keep their subscriber numbers up so that their ad rates don't fall. I wonder when they'll call to ask for money for the Sunday that we haven't renewed yet?

I'm back from the wilds of New Jersey/New York. I also want to apologize for not being at my own Halloween party, thanks to those who came. For those of you not playing along, I went to NJ to ChillerCon for thier Halloween Extravaganza. We are working on a documentary on the movies of Hershell Gordon Lewis and he was appearing there as the guest of honor. Chiller Con is a huge horror movie convention. There were probably over a hundred movie stars there, but I'll drop names later. One thing that was disappointing to me was that since i was working, I couldn't get any autographs or photos (unless you count the video which isn't mine). I was lugging around cameras, mikes, and misc equipment. I had no free hands to even get some of the freebies they were giving out.
We left on thursday in the morning and stopped somewhere around Virginia. on Friday we set out again, opting to take the back roads (301) instead of I95 around DC and Baltimore. Our welcome into Deleware was flashing lights of a police car! I wasn't driving at the time. After asking lots and lots of questions they let us off with a warning for haveing to dark a window tinting. I think that it was more likely they thought we were drug couriers, Florida tags driving the back roads, but when they heard our story and saw our hotel reseverations they realized we were tellng the truth, i figured they would bring out the dogs to sniff the car. we got to sacaucus NJ at about 3, the California part of the team would get in at 6 and the show started at 7pm that night. we shot until the show closed which was after 11pm. it was crazy the lines were unbelievable and the costumes were incredible. After the shoot we went to the Tick Tock Diner with Hershell and David Friedman. We didn't get to bed until after 1am, and Saturday was too be an even busier day. Saturday we were at breakfast with Adam West sitting with us, that was cool, then the show started, the lines just to get in were 1-2 hours long, the lines to get into the tent where the celebries were signing was another 2+ hours and then you had to wait in line again to get them to sign. Lucky me being able to walk around anywhere without waiting in line! We worked all day with interviews and footage of the crowds. At 7 they shut down the show and the signing and at 9:30 the bands came on to play. after the first band they presented Hershell G. Lewis, David Friedman, Connie Mason and Mal Arnold with lifetime achievement awards and then with the Dead Elvi playing instruments, Hershell sang the theme from Two Thousand Maniacs. the crowd was wild. We got too bed at about 12. On Sunday we were told things would be slow, they weren't! It was the most crowded Sunday ever! We managed to interview Tom Sevini and George Romero, we also chatted with John Landis for a while but he refused to be interviewed on camera. All in all it was fun, but tiring as hell.
The toy show had about any toy, movie, poster or collectable you could want, they had a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff, but I barely had a chance to look at it, I could have gotten a Saw 2 Movie poster for free, but I couldn't carry it. I also wanted too buy a Corpse Bride poster but had the same problem, the same with other things. They had LIVE BATS, they were so cool, I don't know if they were selling them, they were selling snakes and scorpions and spiders (oh my!).
Some name dropping now, people I saw and chatted with: Adam West (breakfast the first morning and several times during the show on the elevators and hallways), Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman, David Faustino (Bud Bundy, with a hot blond on his arm every time), George Romero, John Landis, Tom Sevini, Bill Daily,Robert Culp, Adrienne Barbeau (she's let herself go, yech), Elvira, Gates Mcfadden, Burt Ward (he's let himself go too), Noel Neill (louis lane), Linda Blair, and others I have forgotten for the moment. Oh yea, Tonya Harding was there, I would have gotten her autograph if I had the chance, but I don't think she would have posed pretending to hit me in the knee for a photo, that I would have paid for! George Romero was cool, even after everyone had shut down and left, he stayed and signed until his line was done, he looked exhausted but yet gave us a short interview.
On Saturday night was the big party with all the bands playing, well most of the participants come in costume, and I don't mean cheap walmart costume, except for a few of the young kids there, cheap costumes were nowhere to be seen. These were all hand made really incredible looking costumes, they put a lot of time and money into most of them. This is where I get in trouble with Rachel (not really), there were lots of girls there with schoolgirl outfits, with short skirts or shorts, fishnet stockings, some with their butts hanging out, or so I was told, I wasn't looking! There were more girls then I thought would be there, but most were not very good looking, I didn't see any very ugly chicks, but there were no hot chicks (except with Bud Bundy), mostly plain do'n'dumpers!
Well that's about it, if I remember anything else I'll blog more.
What sucks is that I didn't get to go into the city, but we were getting out of there late every night so it wasn't possible, we were going to go to a show in the city with Jimmy Maslin(?) but then he got an earlier flight out and couldn't go. Well Rachel want's to go see Spam-a-lot so hopefully we'll go then, I'll have a better time with her anyway.
October 26, 2005
This will be my last post for a while, I leave in the morning for New York City and since I haven't set up the server so that I can FTP in, I can't blog until I get back . Hope everyone has fun at the halloween party sans me!
October 25, 2005
Tonight is the last night I'll have to work on the CD, and I'm sorry to say that it is not going to happen. Having done CDs already the pr evious two years I know that I can't finish it in time and I'm not going to give out something that isn't ready. Sorry folks, if I wasn't leaving on Thursday things would be different. The options include, skipping this year and being assured a CD next year or finishing the CD when I return and getting it a few weeks after the party, I still haven't decided which. Of course Rachel may still cancel the party anyway!
October 24, 2005
I'm supposed to be at work right now but the weather is nasty outside, I'm waiting for it to calm down somewhat before braving the roads. the temperature has dropped, I love it. Most be a hurricane or something out there!
Here's a brightspot:
It's been a little over three hours since hurricane Wilma passed us... WHERE THE FUCK IS FEMA???? I need my two thousand dollar credit card, the Apple store closes at 9 and I need to get my iMac and Video iPod!!! It's Bushes fault I'm sure, it's because he hates black people. I'm not really black, but I'm sure that's the reason.
October 23, 2005
Well, today is the last day I think I will have to work on the Halloween CD. It is mostly ready and just needs a few more things to get it just right, The bad part is that I don't yet have cover art for it and will have to get that done by tonight too. If I don't finish at least 99% today when you may have to wait until next years party to get a new CD. Since I will be in NY next weekend I will miss the party, Rachel is still debating whether to cancel it or not.
Well the CD is Done... I think, I still have to listen to it all the way through and make any adjustments to it. Unfortunately the CD cover isn't even started. I'll try to get to it tomorrow but I'm not sure it will get done. We'll see.
Even though I was gonna work only on the CD today, I ended up mostly doing yard work, The yard looks great.
Yesterday we carved pumpkins, Little Rachel carved her own pumpkin this year, in previous years, I have done most of the work, this year I only scraped out the guts for her. I think she did a great job, hers is Oogie Bogie and mine is Jack.
She dressed as a geshia to Jack-O-Lando, a party at Dover Shores we took her to.
I think she looked great.
October 19, 2005
Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days, been busy working on several projects of which I will blog about later. Those coming to the party will be rewarded, tho' it seems I may not be there!
October 10, 2005
I have a lot on my mind, maybe I'll blog it all, maybe not, depends on how fast I type. Probably not very long.![]()
Why do I blog? I don't know, I don't even blog that often. I don't even need people to read what I blog, but I do it just the same. Sure, it's nice when I look at my counter and see that I have had a lot of hits, but I'm happy with the usual 15-20 hits a day, though the 150 hits from IMAO felt good and the 50-100 hits I get when I post a new desktop is nice. There are lots of blogs to go to if you want news or opinions, this one is mine and these are my opinions. I don't have comments because I don't care what your opinion is, if I did I would read your blog. If you really what me to know whether you like or don't like one of my post then send me an email.
I find myself strangely apathetic over the earthquake in Pakistan. Maybe it's because when Katrina stuck and the dumb ass mayor was claiming 10,000 dead, in the middle east muslims were saying how it was 'Gods' wraith and that 'God' hated America and that Katrina was a soldier of Islam. Well there was only ~1,000 dead with Katrina. The earthquake last week killed 30,000+, the tsunami killed more then 170,000, the earthquake in Bam, Iran a few years back also killed 30,000+, All killed mostly muslims. So using their logic, who does 'God' hate more? Sure I feel bad, mostly for the children killed and orphaned, but on the bright side, money that would have been spent on supporting terrorist will go to the recovery. The radical muslim terrorists won't care that the US was there to help them, they'll hate us just the same and will find a way to blame us. Maybe we'll have gotten lucky and Osama's cave will have collapsed on him and his terrorist pals and crushed them like the piece of shit cockroaches that they are.
Well I had more to say, but I'll save it for a later blog.
October 6, 2005
Yea I know I haven't blogged enough, but I have been busy making tombstones, and blacklights for Halloween. This is the first year holding the party in our new house and it has to be good, I also have been working on the 2005 Halloween CD and want it to be good.
We finally saw the Corpse Bride, I think it was great, I had gotten worried because the reviews had all said it wasn't as good as NBC. Well, I think that the problem is not that it's not as good, it's that it is different from NBC. I think people were hoping for NBC 2 and it isn't, it was a lot darker for one thing, not as musical, and while it had a good ending, could it really be considered a happy ending? While you can compare the stop motion to NBC, comparing the stories is like comparing Close Encounters to Raiders of the Lost Ark , both great movies by the same director, but different stories. I give it 4 stars.
Apple is set for a big announcment on Wednesday, Oct. 12th. Everyone is trying to guess what Jobs will pull out this time, some say a video iPod while others say new Powerbooks and Powermac G5s. seems like a big guessing game. While I think a video iPod would be really cool, I don't think that it would be very popular. Why? Well I see that the PSP has the UMwhatever format disk that you can buy to watch movies and I think to myself, who the hell wants to watch a movie on a 2 inch screen? while it looks cool, I want to see movies as large as I can, in earsplitting THX surround sound. While the photo iPod is cool to take photos with you, and maybe short videos and trailers would be cool, I don't think it's that big a deal and I would think it wouldn't create a mad rush for people to get an iPod. The Nano just came out and is selling very well, why bring something out that may hurt its sales? What about G5s, this I wouldn't mind them releasing, but with the switch to Intel next year, would they sell as well? Unless they were huge upgrades I don't see why the big deal, the same for Powerbooks, Apple usually doesn't create a big ruckus for small upgrades, hell they released new Mac Mini's, never announced it and haven't even updated the Apple store with the new specs (Faster, more memory..). Hell, maybe they switched to Intel sooner then planned? That would be news. Maybe all of the above? Or maybe something completely different? Whatever it is, Mac lovers everywhere will be waiting for that 'One More Thing...'.
October 2, 2005
It's October, Yay! We started decorating for Halloween yesterday and today, there are spiders crawling all over the house, this house is great for decorating. We even rushed over to Spirit to get more spiders for the house.
We picked up a lot of DVDs this weekend, We got the Firefly series (I told you I liked it), the Family Guy movie, and the third season of Family Guy. They were all on sale and we had coupons so it worked out quite well. In case you haven't seen the Family Guy movie, you have to see it, 'greatest movie ever!'. Not kid friendly though, even the bleeped out version.
Sadly, I still haven't seen the Corpse Bride yet, I was hoping to see it this weekend but didn't get around to it, and I didn't get much work done on the CD either. Did I mention we decorated for halloween?
September 28 , 2005
My review of Serenity is posted Here, there are spoilers so beware. In short, I liked the film and give it 4 out of 5 stars. I think Lucas and Spielburg have become irrelevant, new directors like Nolan, Whedon, Jackson, Singer and others are kicking their asses while they continue putting out crap.
Thank fuly, New York has come to it's senses and Governor Pataki has thrown the IFC out of Ground Zero.
Welcome to any readers of IMAO that have been sent this way, I have been to that blog before and various occasions, guess you never know who you are sitting next to at a theatre!
We went to the Enzian and saw Broken Flowers tonight, I rather enjoyed it. It would be like something I would write, except it doesn't have the bizarre sex and murder I would throw in. ![]()
I'm so depressed, I have to do something creative soon before I lose my mind, I would like to do some photography, but since the lasik, I'm blind! Maybe I'll try to write another screenplay, I have another story I can try to squeeze out, or should I finish the revisions of Justice or Revulsion? I am working on the Halloween CD, but that isn't really creative enough. Of course the new story I've thought up is over the top fucked up, sick and depraved, so basicly what you've come to expect from me! Maybe I'll work on Revulsion, I've got some more ideas to throw Micheals way and it is the only full length script I have that is complete.
September 27 , 2005
I went to see Serenity tonight, review will be up hopefully tomorrow night.
September 25 , 2005
I have movie passes to see Serenity on Tuesday, that's kind of a unique way for them to advertise the movie as the requirement to see it is that I have to review it here on my blog. Here is a synopsis:
Joss Whedon, the Oscar® - and Emmy - nominated writer/director responsible for the worldwide television phenomena of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE, ANGEL and FIREFLY, now applies his trademark compassion and wit to a small band of galactic outcasts 500 years in the future in his feature film directorial debut, Serenity. The film centers around Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family –squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal.
Of course that was written by the studio not me and a requirment also. As I have never watched Firefly, I have no clue if I will like this movie and to the detrement of the studio, I am a very harsh reviewer. I don't think I'm that bad but others do. I'll try to have the review posted by Wednesday Night. You can also watch the trailers Here and Here without all the Flash crap.

What kind of a freak gets up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday to go stand in line for the Apple Store opening at the mall? You have to be nuts to do something like that... Oh wait, that was me!
Rachel was 11th in line, I was 10th! Photos HERE.

It's my daughter's 9th birthday. Happy Birthbay Boo.
September 14 , 2005
At the bottom of my web page it says 'Never Forget' ... Sadly I think most Americans have forgotten. On September 11th of this year, I saw little in the news about 9-11, most news programs took more of a 'oh and by the way' approach to the anniversary. I can understand that, the MSM want's everyone to forget 9-11, they just want us to remember the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq, and they also have a shiny new bone to chew on, and to blame the Bush Administration for. Americans have short attention spans, they don't care what happened a few days ago, they only care about what happens now. On Sunday in a drive around we saw very few flags flying, I guess patriotism fades away quickly.
I read an article saying how we were losing in Iraq because WWII was won in three and a half years and we still hadn't won in Iraq in four years. I'm sure the writer wouldn't want us to win this war the way we won WWII, by bombing the shit out of the enemy (and innocent civilians)and sending hundreds of thousands of troops in. Today the headline on D-day would read '3500 allied Soldiers dead in War' . Would anyone today be willing to send in 16,000,000+ US service men into war? Would they take kindly to 290,000+ DEAD service men just to have the war only last 3 1/2 years? Also, those are only US soldiers and don't include the rest of the allies or civilians killed in the war. Americans don't have the stomach for it anymore, liberals least of all.
I feel like throwing up every time I think of the WTC and what they are doing to it. It is sickening that a site where we were attacked, a site where almost 3000 Americans died, a site that should have a memorial to the innocent civilians that died and the heroes that ran into the towers to try and rescue them, but instead, it is being turned into an apologist center to excuse the terrorist actions. That is what The IFC (International Freedom Center) will be. If you want more info, visit Take back the memorial and sign the petition, don't let them Fuck the WTC site. Now on top of that, The Flight 93 memorial.. What the hell is wrong with this country? The design they have chosen is called the crescent of embrace and is in the shape of a red crescent. WTF? Is this memorial for the heroes on flight 93 or for the terrorists that crashed it? A red crescent is a religious symbol to muslims, what the fuck are they thinking? Maybe the terrorists have won. Sickening.
Crescent of embarrassment

Back from Tennessee, hmm what could I talk about?
After I graduated High School and then College, All I had was my car and a computer. I had nothing of value to really hold me to one place except maybe my family. But then even that wasn't enough to hold me here in Florida, a state which I loath. My best friend and I had arranged to go to College in Alaska, I had in secret arranged to go to the University of Alaska in Anchorage. I was accepted and had the financing set, unfortunately my best friend couldn't go for some reason, so I decided I didn't want to go alone. Nowadays, it is much harder for me to just pack up and go. I have a house, a wife, my daughter, and a house full of stuff. What the Fuck does this have to do with anything? Well, If you have little or nothing, It is easy to pick up and start somewhere new. I hear everyone talking about how the poor in NO lost everything and how they will have to start over. Since they are the ones that had little or nothing, as long as they are alive and their families are alive, then they'll have an easier time starting off somewhere new, And they'll have help from the government to do so. Barbara Bush made a comment to the effect that the folks in NO were better off now, the left has jumped on it as if it were politically incorrect to say so, but since she was talking about the children she was with and they were better off then if they were back in NO, I see no PC problems with her statement. I will say right here that I think the poorer folks in NO may well be better off now, in a few weeks, some will have settled in new places and be collecting welfare checks and probably hurricane aid, hell, some may even be watching their plasma TV sets! All the while, the hard working middle class will be fighting insurance companies and trying to get jobs on par with the ones they had, while Habitat for humanity builds new homes to house those plasma TVs, the middle class will be hoping that they will be able to rebuild a replacement home within 2-5 years. The poor may have the most deaths, mostly due to their own decision to stay, but now the advantage is theirs.
Speaking of the Barbara Bush comment that the left has been batting around, how come we don't hear the same about CNN lefty Wolf Blitzers 'so poor and so black' comment?
August 31 , 2005
Where's Martin Sheen? Where's Al Sharpton? They were quick to jump on the camp shithan media bandwagon, but where are they for the folks of Katrina? How about shithan, runpink and the antiwar crowd? They seem to have time to stand around holding signs in protest? How about doing something worthwhile and lending a hand to the relief? Wouldn't Casey Sheehan be there if he could?
What the hell is with the looting? I can understand grabbing food if you're hungry, it will go bad after all, But what the hell are you going to do with a tv? There's no power, no pawnshops are open to sell it to, I doubt anyone will what to buy it right now, and you probably have no home left to put it in! I did like the 'there's no cops around to stop me, so it can't be wrong' excuse.
Where the fuck is the UN? I figured they would be planning to meet in a month to discuss what to do about the disaster and buying themselves new Land Rovers to tour the area. Then of course they would bitch about the cheap American aid. They must be busy researching the new 2006 SUVs.
I think the only thing that would please the media more about the disaster in New Orleans (and elsewhere) would be if sharks started attacking people on Bourbon Street. They would cum in their pants.

It always hard to lose a pet, they tend to hold a special place in our hearts, especially dogs. A friend's dog got hit by a car yesterday, and while I had never even met his dog, the stories of his antics kept us amused often. The stories also spoke of his love of his dog.

I'm constantly reminded that I am a bad father when my daughter is over and even when she isn't.

Stop Terrorism, Kill all the Jews!!!
Idiot watch continues as the media continues to worship cindy shehan as she pisses on her sons grave. of course they brush her comments about terrorism being caused by the US support of Isreal under the rug, especially after the backlash. She even backed off by saying she was 'refocusing'. She got her time with the President already, that's all you get, if you wasted it, to fucking bad. Your son was a hero, you are just a moron being used by the anti-war nuts. I feel bad for her and for her son, but should we follow the advice of a grieving mother? OK, say we pull out of Iraq and give all of Isreal over to the Palastinians, are you so sure that will end terrorism? Hitler was not appeased by Czechoslovakia, he continued forward into Poland and France. What would the terrorist want after we give in? Death to all the Jews? Death to all the Christians? You give someone what they say they want, they'll decide they want more.

Website was down again, this time due to the storm that seems to have damaged my router. Got it partially working and had to set it up again!
August 11 , 2005
In case you were wondering why the sites were down last night, I was transfering the computer into the new case. It took a little longer then I thought, But I mostly got it working, I just have to figure out why it doesn't see the other drive. The one other thing is that the power switch is different, so i'll have to make a special cable to use the power switch on the front of the new case, right now I have it rigged up with the old switch and some wires! I have the apple on one side lighting up, now I need the other side and the front, That should be fairly easy. The old case was Dark Apple, guess I'll name this one Poison Apple.
I mentioned a few days ago how I hadn't written anything to piss people off in a while so....
Women Are Really Stupid!!!
I love women, I think that they are mostly kind, generous, and giving. I also think they are smart, even smarter then men most of the time, men are mostly just dumb and like to prove it often. I much prefer the company of women, but women are also very stupid....When it comes to men at least. Case in point, why would you fall in love with a guy in prison, lose your job for him, marry him when he won't be out of jail for at least 20 years, and kill someone (getting shot in the process) to break him out? Sorry that is really stupid. now you also go to jail for a long time and will not see very much of him if any! Who knows if he even really loved her or was just using her for some ass and to get her help to escape? Don't think this is rare, how about battered women? or women to at treated like shit and still stay with the guy? I know both sides of the coin, I have treated girls like shit and they keep coming back, and I have tried the nice guy routine and been given the 'Let's just be friends' speech. I left a girl at Disney, miles from where she lived, late at night, to get rid of her and she was back for more in a few days. Women like the 'bad boys', and that makes them stupid, in reality, they could control the cards, as I said before guys are fairly dumb. Need another example, look at the loser Rachel ended up with!
August 7 , 2005
nothing like a good poison apple martini to get you blogging. Rachel is out in the living room blogging so I slipped away to blog.
We've named the duckies, they are Munch and Escher, they are artistic duckies!
The shuttle lands at 4:45 in the morning tomorrow, All the MSM will be there praying for a tragedy I'm sure. Hopefully we'll hear the sonic booms, hard to tell with the flightpath they have.
I worked on the computer mod today, I have one of the apples lighted now, I still need to get the other side lit and the front apple too. Then I can start putting things together again.
I also worked out in the yard this morning, man it's fucking hot in this fucking state, if it wasn't for my daughter I would probably leave this shithole.
On August 6, 1945, little boy visited Hiroshima at 8:15 in the morning, 78,000 people were killed, more died in the aftermath, but hundreds of thousands were likely saved by it. Sadly today America doesn't have the stomach for the big decisions that have to be made, sadly, if it were today, German and Japanese flags would be f lying over Europe, the MSM would make sure of that .

Yesterday I went in for a checkup on my lasik, what I thought would happen did, I have to go under the knife (laser) again. They didn't get it right. It's not really that big a deal, I just hate that I'll have to wait 6 months from the first time to try again, That's about 5 months from now. My eyesight is lousy, and my eyes bother me all the time. I may have to get glasses until the next surgery.
August 4 , 2005
The site was down for most of the day today, I restarted it when I got home. It may go down in a few days when I go to upgrade it, not sure when that will be.
I havn't been blogging much in a while, I tend to think up something to blog about but by the time I get home, I'm tired and don't really feel like blogging. This is the reason that I haven't commented on any news items and such, heck I don't think I've pissed anyone off in a while (GOD SUCKS, there that should do it). I do have a few things that I am thinking of posting in the soapbox, since I haven't posted anything there this year.

Here is my current mod project

finished up the painting last night and put it back together, at least the outside. I still have to put in the internal stuff.

I don't look too bad as a gunslinger
Maybe I'll be one for Halloween, of course I have to be a dead gunslinger, maybe gunshot to the head or something!

Stupid Tank!
Stupid Tank!
I hate the news media, they love when things go wrong, they probably orgasm when an American soldier is killed in Iraq (or Afganistan, etc...). They act like they know what's going on when the just read the fucking teleprompter. I was watching Brian Williams on NBC tonight as he said that the Space Shuttle Columbia exploded because of debris... what a moron. I hated when the news was reporting the Challenger accident and kept saying that it 'blew up', the Challenger exploded, it didn't 'blow up'! And to be fair, the tank exploded (stupid tank) when it was pierced by the SRB.
'That's horrible, I could have got him $10,000' - Jim Carey, Liar Liar
I hate lawyers, except dead ones! Some kids grandparents are suing a video game company because they bought Grand Theft Auto for him. If you don't know, there is a code you can use to get graphic sex acts into the game. This didn't come out till the game was given an M rating and released. the old fogies are suing for false advertising or some other BS, we all really know they want cash, don't give me that moral reasons BS. Did the kid ever even find the code? The kid was thirteen years old, M rated games are for ages 17 AND OLDER, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GET HIM THE GAME!!!! he isn't old enough for it anyway you stupid dumb fucks. Go change your depends, and shut the fuck up! This is like the dumb fuck who was threatening to sue Disney because one of their games had bad language in the credits, unfortunatly for that asswipe, only bootleg copies had those credits, I think Disney should have sued him!

Launch Day
July 15 , 2005
We met one of our new nieghbors, he came by to borrow our grill.
July 14 , 2005
The birth of a Blogger? My eight year old daughter wants to start her own blog! Guess I have to set up a page of her own and show her how to use Dreamweaver this weekend! I'll probably end up having to get her her own domain name... any ideas on what it should be? I think she'll do good as a blogger, she certainly talks enough, blogging should be a cinch. She needs to learn to type.
She wants me to take her to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory too.
July 13 , 2005
Hopefully there are no delays today.

Bummer, Launch scrubbed till at least Monday.

Suicide Bombers have to be the stupidest people there are, the good side is the idiots are removing themselves from the gene pool, Darwin thanks you, the bad part is they sometimes take innocent people with them. How dumb do you have to be to take a bomb from someone who isn't willing to die for his own cause and do it for him?
I upgraded my copy of Adobe Illustrator, I got it yesterday. It looks awesome.

What the FUCK? MTV sucks big donkey dick!!!
As for that last comment, I was watching Live8 on MTV... Did they show any song all the way through? They cut into Pink Floyd while they were doing Comfortably Numb. Isn't that against the law? It should be, especially when Roger Waters and David Gilmore are together for the first time in 25 years! Dumb Fucks, I had to run out to the car and listen to the end on XM radio. XM is the greatest thing in radio, bless them. Beyond AM, beyond FM, XM.
As for Live8, it was a great concert from what I saw, but will it change the world? will it end poverty? Sadly that's doubtful. To change the world, first you have to change human nature. Money won't solve the problems, neither can the governments of the G8. They have to change themselves, they have to change their governments, and they have to want to change. Live8 likes to mention that the average salary is $2 a day... that may not be a bad salary in some places, in Colombia (a third world country) $2 will feed you for at least a day. You can't really compare a salary in the US (and the UK, France, etc...) to one in Africa or Colombia, or even Mexico. Hunger is another matter all together, but there is hunger in the US, UK, France, etc. too. That is also a social change that needs to happen that we can not do much about, when a poor family keeps popping out more children when they can't feed them. Or they have them to get more welfare money to get drugs, alochol, or another carton of smokes, what good does it do to give them more money? The stars up on those stages may mean well, but at the end of the day they go home to their mansions or to a fancy hotel... I wonder how many of them would give all they have up to live a life with only a place to live and three meals a day if that would end poverty? No 'new car, caviar, four star daydream, think I'll buy me a football team', they would be just a regular Joe/Jane.

Long weekend, I hacked up the Bird of Paradise plant that was in the front yard on Saturday and on Sunday my brother and Duane came over and we yanked the roots from the ground and took it to the dump. There is now a hole in the yard where it used to be. We need to get someone out here to resod the yard.
As for the Lasik, it seems to be going well, I can see well enough to not need to wear glasses, but the distance vision is still blurry and I think a would not want to drive unless it was necessary. They did say it would take a while for the full effect to kick in and I have an appointment on the 5th for a checkup. Hopefully they tell me how things are going.
June 23 , 2005
I am typing this without my glasses on and without contacts!
I sold my Jeep the other day, I did it for my movie! I didn't make much off of it but without the car payment and auto ins, I can put more $ away to make it, first purchase on the agenda is a Camcorder, I hope to buy the Sony HDR-FX1 or the even more expensive HVRZ1U, Both are 1080i high def camcorders. I don't think I'll be getting them for several months and I want to shot Justice soon so I may use one of the cameras I have access to for that.

I have new stuff at the Demented Films Store including a new t-shirt design, check it out. I hope to put up a few more designs when I get time to create them!

I brought two skeletons yesterday! they are still in the car, I wonder if anyone saw them as they are in the rear seats buckled in! I got them at Haunted Universe. Sadly Brian is closing the store, at least until he finds a new place to open shop, he'll still have the internet store. hopefully he finds somewhere to open a new store quickly as we need to start getting ready for Halloween, hence the two skeletons I purchased!
We went to see Mr & Mrs Smith yesterday with Duane, it was a really good movie. Brad Pitt is a great actor and Angelina was hot, it was funny as hell, I recommend it.

The Death of the Apple Macintosh?
So did Steve Jobs just kill the Mac today? In case you haven't heard, Jobs today at the WWDC announced that Macs will be switching to Intel Processors and that by 2007 all Mac will be that way. I guess the switch campaign worked in the opposite way, Mac is switching to Windows! So now why would anyone switch to Mac? they only have to wait for Mac to switch to them! While some say it will benefit, I'm not sure how. Macs will basically be Software (OSX), all you now need is a beige box and OSX to have a 'Mac'. I doubt it will increase sales, as OSX is easily pirated who would need to buy it? Macs will become a PC in a fancy box. There will be no G6 and Jobs just made the G5 an obsolete museum piece in a year, I am seriously rethinking my upcoming G5 purchase, I can build a PC cheaper and be able to run Leopard when it comes out, most likely before Longhorn. Well hopefully I'm wrong, but since they have Tiger already running on PCs, even if Apple has proprietary hardware for OSX to run in, it doesn't seem like a long shot that someone will get it working on PCs...as I said, Apple has it doing just that.

Aa some of you out there may know, I want to make a movie, unfortunately there is that nasty money issue. So after much thought and consideration, I have decided to sell my car. This is a tragedy as I really love my car, but I need to make my movie and since no one out there has offered to give me the money to do it, I need some way to raise the money. I don't expect to make much off of the sale, but the sale will allow me to also put the monthly car payment towards the movie, it will also save on insurance and gas. So if you or someone you know is interested in a 2002 Jeep Wrangler X with only 7300 (it's used only on weekends) miles on it then contact me.

May 25 , 2005
Well the shoot is finally over, I am both happy and sad about that, it was great fun, but at the same time very exhausting. We still have a scene to shot to complete the St. Cloud segment, but that can be shot in no time. The documentary should be out around October, and I have my first screen credit under my belt. Yay, can't wait for the next time. I talked with Jimmy Maslon and he said we would definitely work together again.
Well you asked for it and here it is, not sure why so may people keep asking for my thoughts on it, what I think about it matters not, like or do not like, there is no try. It's kind of rambling but here is my review of the prequels and ROTS.
May 24 , 2005
Day 3 of the shoot went well, we shot a lot of b-footage in the morning and then about 1:30 we met with one of the actors that knew where the barrel roll was shot. We followed him out there and shot footage of him talking about the film and that scene. Afterwards we headed back to the Hunter Arms hotel and interviewed Vincent Santos about his role. Another of the little boys that was with 'billy' in the cat strangling scene showed up and we got an interview with him too. We wrapped for the day and had a production meeting next door at a small diner. All in all a good day. Tomorrow is the last day of the shoot, should be a good day. Photos from Sunday are posted on Demented, or just click here. Rachel is still working on the captions so some don't have them yet. We'll also post some of the other photos from the shoot there so check back.
May 22 , 2005
Wow am I tired, I think filming went really well today, we got a lot done, we did have to scrap a shot for a different day as one of the props wasn't ready. Filming continues tomorrow, but today's was the most important recreation of the opening scene. Tomorrow until wednesday will be interviews of Herschell and Friedman, and some of the cast that we have located.
I have seen Revenge...but I don't think I'll post a review for a while, I'm mostly focused on the filming right now.
May 21 , 2005
In today's Orlando Sentinel there is an article on the documentary we are shooting in St. Cloud, it is in the life and times section so check it out, it is also online here. If you want to participate, we are shooting in St. Cloud tomorrow at around noon, drop by and be in a movie.
May 18 , 2005
Star Wars starts tonight, it's funny, I have seen all but the first Star Wars movies on opening night and been really excited to be there. This movie however does not really excite me, as a matter of fact I don't plan to see it till the 30th. I love the first three films, but the prequels have been big disappointments, and the fact that every commercial break has a Star Wars commercial just sickens me. Darth Vader, easily one of the greatest villains of film hocking hamburgers with the creepy 'burger king' is the worst. What a sellout Lucas has become, I know that he used his characters to get the money for the first films so he didn't have to bow to the movie studios, but he no longer needs to do that, it is now just purely for the money. he has turned into a commercial whore, he'll bend over and let you fuck him in the ass if the price is right. don't be surprised if Ben and Anakin are sucking down peps! during the big light saber duel, of course we'll only see a minute of that duel, he has to save time for the 25 minute pod race. I find it funny that after what he is doing (selling out) that he now likens America to the empire of the films when he himself takes full advantage of his American freedoms to make millions. Han Shoots First!

Who watches the Newsmen?
If I went into a packed theatre and yelled fire, causing people to panic and stampede towards the exits and several people died, should I be held accountable? should I go to jail? What if an anonymous source told me it was on fire? Would that/should that protect me from legal action? Why should the news media be exempt? Newsweek fucked up and 16 people died, hundreds were injured and our soldiers are in greater danger because of it. The news media would like to take control of what happens in this country and who gets elected, they think that the people don't know what is best for them and that they do. So who is really big brother? the government who was elected by the people or the news media who would love to control what government is elected? The stupidity and lack of thought and caring what the outcome, is what causes the news media to go after a story with absolutely no basis in fact. The media wants the war to fail, so they report only the bad. Where is the unbiased part that they claim. Newsweek should be held accountable for it's stupidity and not be allowed to claim freedom of the press, not when they are putting lives on the line, lives that include American Soldiers (including my cousin Peter in Afghanistan) fighting for their precious freedom of the press.

Our film project will be filmed starting on Sunday, the shoot should last a few days and be filmed in St. Cloud. We'll see how things go, hopefully it goes off without to many problems.

Happy Mom day to all the moms out there.
I love my mom, and I proved it today by taking my mom to see Monster-in-law, a movie I would never go to see otherwise. It wasn't as bad as I feared it would be and I thought j-lo was good in it, but I hate that I gave jane fonda my money. Oh well, my mom enjoyed it.
I have been recruited to work on a new film project, I can't say to much about it right now but if things go well we'll be filming in a few weeks. It's a big project and a Hollywood project so hopefully things go well. I don't expect to get much money out of it (if any!) but I will get to meet people that could be helpful on my projects.
As we were pushing her motorized scooter out of the middle of the road, Mary told us that she had been there about half hour waiting for someone to stop and help her when her battery died. We noticed her as we were driving and a car almost hit us as they were zooming around her. In the few minutes it took us to get her out of the road at least a dozen cars went by so I figure in the time she was there maybe a hundred cars passed her by without stopping. Seeing that the percentage of people the go to church and even a few that are devout bible thumpers, I imagine that a lot of them would have passed by her. I find it somehow funny and very, very sad, that the only ones willing to stop to help her was an atheist and a deist. It only took us a few minutes to push her out of the street, and only about 15 minutes to take her a few blocks home. Guess the church goers and the bible thumpers were to busy to help one little old lady..
I watched Penn & Teller's Bullshit the other night, they did a show on circumcision. Oddly enough, it touched on the same points that I mentioned in a post a while back.
April 26, 2005
I posted a little on demented about Justice, the script that I am working on. Now that we are mostly moved in I want to get started on it. hopefully I will have a finished script in two or three weeks as I would like to film sometime in late May or June. If anyone out there is interested in helping then drop me a line.

OK everyone, important news on the bakerstreet front, www.bakerstreet.ws will soon be www.bakerstreetws.com. Keep checking there and when it starts forwarding then change your bookmarks. Should be up in a few days (2 or 3), maybe less.
As of now, bakerstreetws.com is this website, update your bookmarks.

HA, HA, HA, HA... Jane Fonda got spit on by a vietnam vet at a book signing, how's that for justice. I think Vets should show up at all her signings and spit on her, see how she likes it. It was her and her ilk that spat on the vets when they came home was it not. She can take her apology that she is making money off of and cram it up her ass. It's not that I appove of vietnam, I think it was a bad decision and we shouldn't have been in there helping those fagot french fucks out of the fire.
April 20, 2005
There is a new pope, and he's a nazi too. perfect choice. Guess the church can go back to denying the atrocities of Germany during WW2. How about a little truth in advertising in the new popes name? He should try something like Pope Chester the Molester LXVIV. Oh well, since when has the church ever told the truth anyway, why would they start now.
In other news, looks like Bakerstreet.ws is going to be changing domain names, not sure yet what it will become but I should be choosing a new name soon. Any thoughts on a name from my few readers? Also, my email will change, I'll let you know then I decide.
April 14, 2005
Here I was thinking that John (sore/loserman: the sequel) Kerry was at least being a better loser then Gore. Then he goes and starts bitching about a report that republicans played dirty by sending out flyers before election day telling Democrats that they were to vote on Wednesday not Tuesday, and where was the report that made this claim published? The Onion! So not only did he make himself look stupid for quoting a satirical web site, but he insults the intelligence of democrats that he thought were stupid enough to fall for a ploy like that! But what he is up to now is the worst. He sent an email to family of service men asking them to sent him stories, but he doesn't want just any stories, he wants stories of hardship and tragedy to use to criticize the Bush administration. HE WANTS TO USE IT FOR POLITICAL GAIN. What a complete pile of shit, I am so happy that asswipe didn't win, and my opinion of him has dropped him even below Clinton, but he is still above the Hillary Cunt.
Here's some numbers for you antiwar pansies to mull over, tho' I'm sure you'll whine about them too.
I'll try to post some pictures my cousin Peter sent me from Afghanistan where he is stationed soon, hopefully this weekend. Here is one for now.

April 10, 2005
Wow, we did a lot today, I was mostly unpacking boxes of toys and books that go in the computer room. I found things I had totally forgotten I had. I am fast running out of shelf space for everything and there are still boxes of books we keep finding. My Jeep has a home, we were able to get enough things unpacked that we fit the Jeep in the garage. Some people thought it would take us months! The rest of the garage should be clean by next week hopefully.
April 8, 2005
Well we finally have moved, and though there is still a lot of unpacking and arranging to do, I think the stress and worry is mostly over. On that note, I have one thing to say... FUCK UHAUL, I HOPE ALL YOUR TRUCKS BURN IN HELL. Well I feel better, use someone else if you move, I know I will.
SIN CITY - WOW, I went to see Sin City the other night and I was blown away, It was awesome. Robert Rodrigez hit this one way out of the ballpark... no it went out into space. Awesome, it was prefect, I highly recommend it. Sin City isn't even one of Frank Miller's Graphic novels I'm familiar with. I also hear that the script for Watchmen is Awesome, hopefully they don't drop the ball as that is one of the best GNs I've read. If anyone out there has a copy of it send it my way(the David Hayter script, not the others floating around out there).
April 6, 2005
We're BACK, or at least soon will be when the name server updates! It's been hell week here as we moved from the old place into our new much larger place. lots has happened during the move, but at least the most stressful part is over, luckily I had this week off as my vacation. There is still a lot to do, unpacking and putting things away and installing new ceiling fans and so on. The computer, while it is up and running, still has to be set up better when I get around to it.
March 31 , 2005
Last full day here at wingward, and the last full day of Bakerstreet before shutting down for a few days. Tonight we get a uhaul and pack everything into it, tomorrow we are set to close so this may be the last post until next week, DSL is set to start on 4/5 and then I have to get everything set up.
March 30 , 2005
Looks like Bakerstreet and all the other sites hosted on this server will be down from April 1st til at least April 5th when they install internet at the new place.
March 27 , 2005
Happy Zombie Day!
Oh man am I tired. I got dragged out of bed at 5 in the morning to go to a sunrise service at Seaworld. Yes I went to a sunrise service! The speaker was Bo Duke from the Dukes of Hazzard. He wasn't a good speaker, if I get up that early, I would rather be going fishing! After that it was back home to continue packing up the PODS. We started yesterday so I was already tired. I think we did a fairly good job, all the furniture is in and we got a lot of boxes in there as well, the only big thing left are the washer/dryer. I think it's about 2/3 full, mostly the free space is at the top where we have to put the light stuff. We still will have to rent a truck to get the rest of our stuff but it will mostly be boxes, grill, outside swing, mattress and some smaller furniture.
March 24 , 2005
So I'm watching Entertainment Tonight and of course you have all the stars giving thier oppinion on the Terry Shiavo case. Hey morons, you are dancing bears, SHUT THE FUCK UP and dance. The only people that care what you think are other morons that don't have minds of their own.
March 21 , 2005
I was watching Boston Legal (I think that's the name) last night. Why is it that all death row inmates are always innocent? They've done this show before when it was called the Practice, they run around trying to get a stay on the guy who is about to be executed who is innocent. I guess they want to change peoples mind on the issue? Sorry, this was a bad week to try and change my mind. In a week where Jessica Lunsford was raped and murdered here in Florida, I have no quams about strapping that bastard to the chair and frying him, I'd pull the switch today if they let me, but of course it will take 15-20 years before that happens and by then the anti-death penalty people will have forgotten little Jessica and be more concerned with the bastard that killed her. Oh and yes, I do know the chair is no longer used in Florida.
March 20 , 2005
We were supposed to pack today, but we decided to go to the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. We had gone yesterday, but we had Little Rachel with us and we were more occupied watching her then we were with the art. We go every year to the festival and this year we were looking with thoughts of the new house, though we didn't buy anything because we haven't moved yet.
I got new shoes... one thing I hate about my feet is that they don't like a lot of shoes, the ones they like are usually expensive and today was no exception, but if I get the wrong shoes my feet swell up and I'm in agony. Though on occasion I have found inexpensive soes that they like, I mostly like the real expensive ones.
March 12 , 2005
We went fishing today, we did really well Rachel caught 2 pompano and a bluefish, while I caught a sailor's choice (we threw him back) and a nice flounder. I didn't want to upset Rachel by catching to many fish, and since the flounder I caught dwarfs her fish. Here's a picture of them. See how HUGE it is.
(don't believe her if she says I photoshoped it, it's not true!)
March 9 , 2005
I had a good feeling about the day yesterday, and although the day started out crappy and I was beginning to think I had been wrong, things turned around and it ended up like I thought it would. We'll have to see if things stay that way.
March 7 , 2005
Happy Birthday to my brother Tony.
Happy Birthday to my wife Rachel - love you lots.
Sorry, I was too depressed to dig up embarrassing photos of you two as kids like I usually do. maybe tonight I will.
March 5 , 2005
The streak continues.
March 1 , 2005
Those of you that think I haven't been Blogging obviously haven't checked my other site.
I know I haven't blogged much here, but I've been depressed/stressed out/pissed off about a lot of things that are happening. Maybe that is why I wrote Justice... to keep my mind off of other things that are going on. If you don't kow what Justice is then check Demented.
I installed Linux on my iPod today, it's pretty cool and works fairly well for being beta version 0.3a. I don't like the music playback, it tends to hang, but the games were cool and worked fine. It lets you view graphics, tho' it's B/W and only 4 shades, it should be cool on the iPod Photo when they get that working. It's kinda cool having Tux show up when I start it up.
February 22, 2005
WTF - I have seen public schools do some stupid things, their zero tolerance policies , while good in some cases are totally stupid in others, how can they justify expelling a student for a cough drop or a little kinder garden student for an innocent kiss? How do they now call a group of older student shoving a little girl to the ground and trying to forcefully remove her clothing as just child's play? How can they declare it consensual? how many 8 year old kids would consent to being shoved to the ground and have their clothes removed? What the fuck is wrong with these people? This is not child's play, it is assault, and the kids should be punished more severely then a kiss or an aspirin. Though they seem to want it to go away, it will not. I never tolerated bullies when I was a kid and several of them found out the hard way, I sure as hell won't let some little punks mess with my daughter.
February 16, 2005
So unless a miracle happens, looks like our home sale is in the shitter. Along with that goes the purchase of the house we wanted. Apparently the buyer lied to the morgage company, when they ran their credit back a few months ago it was perfect, but now when they ran it, some things they haven't been paying have cropped up and that killed the deal. So that is the third deal that has tanked on us. We have been trying to sell this house for 6 months now, when we were first going to put it on the market, all the damn hurricanes came through here, we finally got the roof fixed at the end of Nov., but decided to wait till after the holidays to list it. We listed it at the beginning of Jan. and got an offer right away, that fell through. then we got two offers, of course the one we took fell through also, this was the fourth offer and things seemed to be going great till last night, and now we will probrably lose the house we wanted to buy(again) because of this asshole.
February 15, 2005
Oh man I feel like crap today, didn't sleep at all last night, just as I started to doze off the fucking alarm went off. I should call in sick... but I won't.
February 14, 2005
These bastards trying to obtain Tennessee drivers licenses, I say ship them back to their place of birth... New Jersey
Speaking of Tennessee, I could have bought two houses for the price we're paying here in FL for one... Except we would be in TN, and I really don't want to marry my sister!
February 11, 2005
Yea, I haven't blogged much this week, but we've been on a roller coaster with selling the house and trying to find one to buy. I think we pretty much found a house, unfortunately it's very stressful and we still have two weeks before it is all over.

Go Philly bird type things. Like I really care!
Stupid bird type things!
WooHoo!
D'oh

It's been a hectic week, last Sunday we got an offer on the house and we accepted it, we actually got two almost exactly the same offers, but one gave us until March 15 to close so we took that one. We chose poorly, after two days of trying to get a signed contract out of them they backed out, and also ruined the chance of the other offer, but in the end things may work out better.
At work on Monday we got in two new G5s, they were for the editorial department but after some negotiations we got them to agree to trade two of our G4s for them. Editorial doesn't need the speed that we require as all they do is edit the columns and it is more the speed of the editor then the speed of the machine. The problem? They needed one machine set up for them by Friday so we had to get the G5 up and running in our department by then to send them one of the G4s. We run custom Applescripts in our department and we run them in OS 9, mostly because we still use Quark 3.11 & Quark 4.1, because most of our clients still use those versions and Quark is so stupid that the latest versions (5 & 6) won't open or save the older format! (on a side note: we would purchase at least 2 or 3 dozen copies of 6 if it would allow us to use older formats, and a lot of the companies we work with would upgrade too), the G5 we were getting don't run in OS9 they only start up in OS X meaning we had to modify the scripts to work in OS X while running Quark in classic mode. I have never written in Applescript, I had never even messed with it until I started working at this job, and I was tasked with the burden of programming the new scripts. I have modified the scripts over the years so I know a little, but not really that much. So on Monday I started this project and made very good progress, I had most of the main script working by the time I left. Tuesday I got in and started working on them, I had only gotten started when the G5 froze up, after trying to restart it all I got was the question mark, it couldn't find a drive. We spent half the day trying to revive the machine to no avail, we would have to start over with the other G5, all the code that I wrote on Monday was gone. Luckily, I remembered most of the changes and was able to reconstruct the written code, but it cost us a day. After talking with Apple tech support, they confirmed my suspictions, the drive was bad on the first G5, we would have to return it. Wednesday I was mostly working to get my papers out and wasn't able to do much on the scripts, I did manage to get two other minor scripts rewritten, and I got the main script working and one of the subscripts to collect images working too, but I hit a wall on the subscripts that save as PDFs and EPSs, they would not work. Thursday my boss and the guy they sent to Applescript classes were the ones trying to get the subscripts working, after spending most of the day they gave up. We needed to come up with a plan, luckily, we managed to dig up an old G3 that we could give to editorial and that will buy us time until the bad G5 is returned to us. Friday I was back to working on some of the smaller scripts and got them working, but still no joy on the two subscripts that refuse to work. The frutrating part is that the scripts should work, on their own, the code to save works, but inside the full script it doesn't, and once again, I suspect that it is more a problem with quark then with Applescript as all the other programs that the script calls work fine. Stupid quark.

Congratulations to Iraq and the people of Iraq for voting for the first time. Sadly for the news media, there was a 70-90% turnout with just small reports of violence. I know they had wished for a small turnout with the 'streets washed with the blood of voters'. But hey, maybe there are liberals there that will demand endless recounts and put dumb ass bumper stickers on their cars 'sorry terrorists, but 10-30% of us didn't vote' and 'when saddam was head, no blood was shed'.
Oh my God, I was watching CBS news (all the news that's fit to fake) not really by choice, just because nbc and abc had sports still on. Dan Rather was reporting from Iraq about the very successfull election. could he have looked more miserable? He reported about how happy the Iraqis were as if he had just found out his whole family had been killed in a horrible gardening accident. Jeez, he should have been cast as Marvin the robot in the Hitchhikers Guide!
Happy Birthday J'lynn.
Looks like we may be homeless on March 15. Now begins the serious home search, I expect Greenspan to raise interest rates by 10 percent sometime this week!

The rat hunt begins! put me down for both getting rabies and rushed to the ER. Of course we're not using democratic rat traps, that would take several years of UN resolutions and very stern letters to the rats. We used the republican traps, break thier little fucking necks, asap.
Poor Micheal Moore(on) Lost the election and now no Oscar nominations for Fahrencrap, have another hoagie, it'll make you feel better.
Happy 21st birthday to the Apple Macintosh. Yea I know, I'm a day late.
OK, now for something completely different, (a turn to the left?): Terry Schiavo. sensory deprevation is used as a torture device, if you don't know what that is then imagine not being able see, taste, hear, feel or anything else. Is the vegetative state that Terry Schiavo is similar to SD? is keeping her alive actually torture to her? Even if not, I think forcing her to live is a horrible, selfish act. if your brain could be kept alive but you couldn't see, hear, touch or have any kind of sensory input, would you actually want to live that way, and before you say yes, remember that this is used as torture. I know I don't want to be a side of beef, even if I can think, hell that would make things worse. I think a short story by Steven King fits in perfectly for this topic, It's called The Jaunt and I think it's on Skeleton Crew. 'It's longer then you think'
The Dover Area School District in PA has started teaching 'intellegent bullshit..er design'. hopefully the courts stop this covert attempt to teach religion in schools, I know if I had a child in that school district I would be one of the parents suing, It's one thing to say God in the pledge, it's another to teach creation.
Have you seen the Burger King commercial where the guy wakes up with the 'burger king' in his bed? Is it just me or is this creepy? Now they have a radio spot where a guy calls Burger King asking if he can have the 'burger king' wake up in his bed! That's beyond creepy. I don't know about you, but I know I don't want to wake up with a strange guy in my bed. Hell it wasn't for the fact that I don't eat at BK (or hardly any fast food places), this commercial would stop me from wanting to go to BK, This is worse then the singing dead rat things that Quiznos had, I stopped going to Quiznos because of those commercials and I love Quiznos, Thank God they stopped those.

OK, I want everyone out there to know that tomorrow is 'Not one damn dime' day. this is a protest on the war in Iraq and President Bush's inauguration and we are asked to not spend any money tomorrow. Thankfully tomorrow is payday and I plan on spending as much as I can, Best buy here I come! I also implore all of you to do the same. Let's show these morons what we think of their protest with our own anti protest!

Not moch to post today, I just posted artwork I created today on the paint splatters page. Been a while since I worked in Illustrator.
Wow, after creating a T-shirt for the hurricanes and putting them for sale (mostly for friends/family) at cafepress.com back in early October, I hadn't heard anything from Cafepress. Then today I get a check from them for the shirts sold (7, NONE to friends/family). That was cool but not the end, after checking my email, I have a cease and desist notice from cafepress! I thought I would get one much sooner as survivor is copyrighted. So everyone that wanted one and said they would buy one, you are SOL. There are only 9 shirts out there and 2 are mine! I just wish I had bought a few more. Thanks to those that bought them.

As I promised, here is the rant I wanted to post yesterday. It may come to you as a shock that I vote republican most elections, especially when you read some of my rants and given the fact that I am an atheist and I am not a fan of organized religion. But it becomes even stranger if you consider that I also don't like liberals seeing that I am liberal. I believe in protecting the environment, freedom of speech, separation of church and state, etc.. Mostly all liberal views, the view that is different is that I believe in the war in Iraq, it will, in the end, protect the US. I don't think that blaming others for our problems is right, and by this I mean suing everyone for your own stupidity. people need to take responsibility for their own actions. Criminals should not be let off with a slap on the wrist. these are also things that are the fault of liberals. But I digress, lets get to the shocking part.
I was surfing around and came across this article in the Seattle weekly. It was written by one of the democratic counters that helped steal the governors election in Washington state, it only took them four counts, dead people voting, more votes then registered voters, and 'found' ballots to do it but they did it. They are probrably on their way to Ohio by now, but again I digress. you don't have to read the article, most of it is not about what I want to talk about anyway. the section that convinces me that the democrats are hypocrites is under the heading : Time for Prayer
On this last day, I learned something that confounded my notion of what had been going on in the GOP Lounge. That morning I was surprised to see that the Sean Hannity look-alike had also been selected by his party for the final day. I decided to seize the opportunity to ask, "How come I see you going in and out of the GOP Lounge at breaks and lunch?" It was a good question, since counters and observers were explicitly instructed not to talk to one another, and the observer rooms on both sides—Democrat and Republican—were supposedly off-limits to ballot counters. But I had personally witnessed several other ballot counters, Ben among them, disappearing inside the GOP Lounge. The answer the Sean Hannity look-alike gave me came as a shock.
It was for prayer time, he said barely above a whisper. I had to ask the other people standing with us to confirm what he said. This was something I had never considered. That a political party interested in the results of an election would conduct daily prayers, formally or informally, inside an office building in which the express purpose is to conduct civic business left me speechless. Apparently, because they had paid for the space, they felt entitled to do whatever they wanted—or, more precisely, whatever they could get away with. The revelation that prayers were being conducted in the GOP Lounge, together with the fact that the Republican candidate for governor once said he thought creationism should be taught alongside evolution in public schools, gave me a chilling new understanding of the phrase "party faithful." What I had thought was a contest for governor turned out to be more like a religious war.
I edited this slightly, but nothing that would change the gist of the paragraph. Here is what most will find shocking, I SUPPORT the Sean Hannity look-alike's right to pray! Who the fuck is this asshole to dictate to him where he can pray? How is this in any way bothering her? If the guy was a muslum, would she deny him the right to pray? Would that not be considered racist? And what the hell does teaching creationism in school have to do with it? I am highly against teaching creationism in schools, but that is a totally different topic and unrelated to the guys freedom of religion. How HYPOCRITICAL are the liberals who fight for personal freedoms when they are upset that the poor guy is expressing his religious freedoms. They'll fight for freedom, except if you are a conservative! Sorry bitch, this is America, if you want your freedom, then you best be prepared to grant others the same freedom, even if they don't agree with you. That is the reason that I don't fall in line with most and the reason that I piss people off, I may think you are an idiot, but you have the right to be one.

I posted a new desktop on the monitor candy page.
I was gonna rant about an article I read online and I think it would have surprised... no, more like shocked and stunned most of my loyal (few) readers out there. Unfortunately I can't find the article, I read it at work and now I am home. I will have to check my history at work and maybe post it tomorrow.

A look at what will soon be the web server here, or I might just use it as my system since it's faster then the current server! Have to see if it's possible to swap the HD for a bigger one, I need at least a 250 in there, I would probably try getting a 400 in it!
Well the weekend was kinda hectic, we got an offer on the house so we put an offer in on a house we saw and really liked. Well as things usually happen with my luck, 24 hours later the offer on the house was withdrawn, we had a clause in our offer that it was contingent on the sale of the house and the next morning the offer we made was turned down because of the clause and the fact that we hadn't sold the house. It sucks because I really want to get out of here, but in a way it's good because we had reservations about having put an offer on the table without having the house sold. Oh well, we'll find a home, hopefully we'll sell this house soon.

D'oh, 24 premieres tonight, I hate 24, it's so good I have to watch it!

I was thinking that Bakerstreet may go down for a while, it may be only a day, but it mat be weeks or even months, and it won't be only this site, Pereiraville, and Demented and the others on the server will also be effected. Once we sell this place, it will depend on where we end up and how long it takes to get a new internet web server up and connected. I hope that we find a place quickly or that where ever we stay till we do find a place that i can get the sites back up without to long a wait. I could always set up a computer at work with an airport card and use the unsecured wireless network that is accessible from my office!
I was doing pottery with my daughter tonight, she got a pottery wheel for christmas and had been bugging me to do it with her. It was fun and I think she enjoyed it. I might even get a real pottery wheel for myself after we move... or not, who knows.
The RIAA gets bitch slapped, the US 8th circuit court quashed subpoenas issued to Charter Communications Inc. to turn over the names of subscribers suspected of illegal downloading:
"Because the parties do not dispute that Charter's function was limited to acting as a conduit for the allegedly copyright protected material, we agree that the 1998 act doesn't authorize the subpoenas", U.S. Circuit Judge Kermit Bye wrote in the majority's opinion released today. However, as always, the RIAA had nothing but tough words to utter after this defeat. "For the past year, we have successfully utilized the 'John Doe' litigation process to sue thousands of illegal file sharers," the RIAA said in a statement. "Our enforcement efforts won't miss a beat,"

So its been 11 days since the tsunami hit and what has the UN done to help the victims of the disaster? Well the last I heard Kofi was on vacation and the UN was convening a meeting on the disaster on January 8th, at this rate they should be ready to go to the area by the end of the month. Meanwhile who is out in the field helping the victims? The stingy Americans and the Australians are leading the way. Even though Bush was also on vacation, he managed to get the military there on the ground with supplies and aid. even the people there say the only aid they've seen are the yanks and the aussies. I'm sure Kofi and family will find lots of ways to aid thier pockets faster then they find ways to aid the victims. I think the US should hand the UN an eviction notice and then bulldoze the building. Put something up that is worthwhile. The UN has proved itself an outdated worthless pile of steaming dung! Time to scape them off of our shoes!
Well the house is finally on the market, after all the trouble we had with the hurricanes and such, it's good to finally put that behind us. There seems to be a lot of interest in it so it shouldn't take long. I am excited and worried at the prospect of selling the house and moving. we really have no plan on what to do if the house sells. We are going to start looking at homes this weekend, but the odds are that we will sell this house and have nowhere to go! We have remodeled the house in the four years we have lived here and I imagine we will work on the new home we buy, the biggest reason we need to sell is the house is really way to small for us and the neighborhood has gotten to be less then desirable.

Happy New Year
As usual, the neighbors are trying to burn our house down, this year they have a home built flame thrower. I think the neighbor in fronts backyard is on fire!

The Blog Begins Anew
Last night was a great New Years, we had Fondue and Pastellis, drank some Martinis, set off fireworks and drank a nice $30 bottle of Champagne, not a bad way to end the year.
We went to Universal Studios today, we both got annual passes so we didn't have to see everything today, but it wasn't that crowded today and we actually did more then I thought we would. We went to Universal Studios first and then went into Islands of Adventure. At the Studios we didn't have to wait in line very long for anything except the Mummy and even that was fairly quick. We went on the Mummy first since we hadn't every been on it, I think it's a great ride, then we hit Twister (ok) and Earthquake (ok) and then on to Jaws (I like Jaws!) and Men in black. I had been on Earthquake and Jaws before the others were new to me. Rachel had never been to Universal so they were all new to her. At Men in Black, the line was the longest, but as we approached a couple asked if we were going to MIB and handed us a fast pass for it so we got on in a few minutes. then we went on Back to the Future, I had been on it so I knew Rachel wouldn't like it but she wanted to try it. After that we hit Terminator 3D which we both enjoyed for the first time. we had lunch at Universal which was really disappointing, food is so much better at Seaworld. After T3D we headed over to Islands of Adventure. We mostly just walked around as this park was much more crowded then the Studios. We checked Spiderman but the line was 45 minutes and I wasn't waiting for that long, the wait was about that much on most of the rides here but we did get on the Jurassic Park River Adventure who's line was only a few minutes then we checked on The Hulk and it was 30 minutes, which we decided was worth it, and it was. The Hulk has to be one of my favorite roller coasters, it was awesome. we checked again for Spidey but it was still to long a wait so we headed out, maybe next time we'll get to go on Spidey and Dueling Dragons, but for the time we spent there, I think we did a lot. Oh and I got a Spidey antenna ball too.
